I don’t move until I can no longer see him, and only then do I spin and run to my car.By the time I get in, I’m panting, and my heart is racing.God damn Wesley, I hope that club takes him out once and for all because he’s going to cause nothing but problems if they don’t.Still, I can’t help but wonder what it is he has on them.

If they give in to his demands, I’ll know it’s something big enough to destroy them.

That’s a worrying thought.

I drive straight to the club, not stopping until I’m safely in the front gates. Then, I rush inside and go on a hunt to find someone, anyone.I stumble into Jackson first, walking out of the shed. His eyes swing to me, and narrow as he watches me approaching quickly. He can tell something is wrong right away, no doubt by the expression on my face.

“You good, darlin’?”

“Wesley found me again.”

His eyes flash.“You hurt?”

I shake my head.“No, but he gave me a phone and told me that he wants the club to make contact or he’s going to release what he knows to the public and media until every criminal in the state comes after you.”

Jackson’s face hardens.

The threat must hit close to home.

I hand him the phone, and he takes it.

“He said you have twenty-four hours.”

A low growl leaves his throat.“Thanks.I’ll sort this out.Don’t you worry about it.”

Bit hard for me not to worry, when he’s making big threats like that.

“Jackson?”I ask when he goes to walk away.

He glances at me over his shoulder.“I’m pregnant.”

His eyes widen, and he murmurs low, “Congratulations.Gotta know why you’re tellin’ me that right now.”

I pause, then say softly, “Because I don’t want you to tell Muff about this, and when you go after Wesley, I don’t want him to know.I nearly lost him once; I can’t lose him again.”

Jackson studies me.“He’s part of my club, darlin’.It ain’t right to leave him out.”

“I know, but he’ll do something silly. The rage inside him will take over and he’ll make a mistake.I need him. Please, just this once.Don’t tell him.”

Pondering it, Jackson takes a moment, then he nods.“Do my best.”

Gosh, I appreciate him.

He understands just how hard things have been for Muff and I, and he respects it.

I think I’ve found my forever family.
