This rose is for you, my beautiful Skylar.

The sun rises and sets every day for you.

One day you’ll be mine, to hold and love forever.

Take this as my token and know the blood I bleed for you is only a small piece of what I will do for you.

~ Yours Truly, Amore

Flipping the note over, I try to check if there is anything else that could be used to identify whoever this creep is. The only thing on the other side is a symbol. It’s the exact same one each of my men and I have tattooed on us. No one should know about it unless they caught a quick glimpse of it while we were changing or something. We were all good about making sure that didn’t happen, though, wanting to keep something about us private for one another after living so much of our life in the limelight. The panic that I thought I had gotten ahold of was climbing again, threatening to send me into a panic attack.

Snatching the rose off the counter, I take it and the note, tearing them both up and shoving them into the trash can in the bathroom.

“SKY YOU HAVE ONE LAST CHANCE TO TELL ME YOU’RE OKAY BEFORE I HAVE SECURITY BREAK THIS DOOR DOWN!” Freddy shouts panicked. His words pull my attention back to the commotion at my door. Freddy was the last person I wanted to see this and try to support me. Hell, he was the first person I would suspect as being the one to place the items in my room to freak me out. Out of all the options, he would be the one I would suspect knows about the tattoo because of his weird stalker tendencies around me.[4]

“I’m fine, Freddy!” I holler, hoping to get him to back off. “It was just a spider. You know how much I hate them, but I managed to kill it!”

Hopefully, that’s enough to convince him.

“Are you sure?” he asks, not sounding very convinced by my answer.

“Positive! Everything’s fine in here. Just give me five more minutes, and I’ll be ready to leave!” I answer calmly despite my hands shaking.

“Alright, I’ll let the guys know.”

I wait until I hear everyone step away from the door before I collapse on the floor in a ball. Five minutes. That’s all I need to freak out. Later, I’ll tell the guys about what happened and get their opinions on the matter, but I don’t want to ruin our night when they are finally taking me out. Whoever is leaving me creepy fan mail will still be there to deal with tomorrow.

Chapter Eight

It’s been a while since Gunner and I have attended Fight Night to watch Gunner. It was his thing with Skylar that we didn’t want to intrude on. It’s not that we hadn’t tried to intrude, especially when we found out he was taking her, but both of them swore up and down that she was safe. After the third time they went, we noticed a change in her. She was more confident and didn’t seem plagued with the demons that were in her mind. That was when we caved and allowed them to go alone and didn’t put up a big fuss.

After the bitch left us, all of us spiraled; there’s no hiding that. Our demons took over and won. Gunner fought more and more. The ones he was joining became more dangerous, and he’d come home several times covered in blood and bruises. It took a ton of stage makeup to cover it, and we started keeping a doctor on standby to patch him up secretly. Sebastian and I finally had to intervene, telling him enough was enough. We weren’t going to let him get killed fighting. There was no way we could stop him, but we could at least find a way to tame the beast inside, even if we couldn’t fully control it.

After they watched me overdose and get clean, Gunner knew he needed to change his ways as well. Not knowing if I was going to live or die nearly broke him, almost as much as, if not more than, when our Heart left us.

My brother chose to see a trainer with the help of our security team and learned to hone his skills and still get the high from fighting that he needed without it almost killing him. I’m positive that if we weren’t already in our own rock band, he would have a good shot at becoming a professional fighter.

“You ready for this?” Sebastian shouts over the roar of the crowd to Gunner.

Looking over at them, I see him bouncing on the balls of his feet as he cracks his neck. It’s his way of staying loose, not letting his muscles tense up before the fight. He’s shirtless, only wearing a pair of his black jeans that are already ripped to hell and back, which is why I think he uses them here. His tattoos are on full display, and I’ve noticed quite a few of the women here checking him out. About the same amount have checked out Sebastian and me as well. There’s no hiding our identities here, but honestly, no one here cares. They are here for one of three things:

To fight, drink, and/or fuck.

I have every intention of bringing a woman or two home with me tonight for a little fun. I need to feel my dick buried deep in some pussy to get the cunt who returned from hell out of my mind.

“Hell yeah. I got this,” Gunner grunts, bumping his fist against each of ours. “See you on the other side.”

I watch as he makes his way through the crowd huddled around the edge of the makeshift ring. It sits up high enough that, no matter where you stand in the warehouse, everyone has a decent view. Sebastian and I decided to hang in the shadows off to the side so we don’t attract too much unwanted attention. Most will leave us alone, which is nice and makes it a lot easier to pick up girls.

“I’m gonna grab another beer. You want one?” I ask Bas before I walk away. The one in my hand is almost empty and warm, so there is no way I’m going to be finishing it.

“Nah, I’m good with this,” he grunts, his eyes never leaving the ring.

“Aight, enjoy your piss-warm beer,” I say with a shrug and walk away.

Sticking to the edges of the crowd, I take the long way to get to the bar on the other side of the room. In reality, it’s easier since I’m not trying to push my way through a throng of people. Thankfully, the line is pretty short when I get there with only four people standing at the bar waiting. Picking a spot next to a smoking hot female, I lean against the bar and wait for my turn. I’m in no hurry to get back to Sebastian and watch the fight. We’ve been to so many over the years they're starting to all blend in. I’ve yet to see too many people beat Gunner, or even come close. His opponent tonight won’t be any different.

“Hey, beautiful,” I drawl, tilting my body towards hers.
