“That tune. What’s it called?”

His words are slow, like they’re taking an effort for him to say.

“‘Hush, Hush.’ It’s the melody I have tattooed up my spine.”

I turn and whip my T-shirt off, leaving myself naked. He blinks at me, his eyes wide as he takes me in. I watch him over my shoulder before turning to look at him. His cock is rock hard, pressing against his pants. I drop to my knees in front of him and spread his legs apart before fishing his cock out. I stroke it up and down a few times before looking up at him.

“You know the song?”

I keep humming it as I slowly jack him off. He doesn’t say anything, just watches me with a glazed expression. When I feel him tense, I release his cock and grab the condom I hid under the cushion earlier. I rip it open and roll it down the length of his dick.

“Of course you know it. It was playing in the background the first night we met.”

His eyes flash as I pick up speed, my hand moving up and down his cock, until his eyes roll back in his head, and he comes inside the condom with a grunt. When he relaxes, I slip the condom free and knot the end.

I stand up when I hear the door open. Nathan makes a weird, choked noise, but I keep my eyes on the hallway as the door closes, and I hear the lock click into place as my body hums with anticipation.

I suck in a deep breath as he steps into the room. “You’ve never had a migraine a day in your life. You got your memories back.” Valen’s deep voice rumbles across my skin.

“I got my memories back,” I confirm with a whisper as his eyes move over my naked body.

“Welcome back, Boo.”

I let out a sob and throw myself at him. He catches me and holds me tightly to his chest. I don’t cry, even though I want nothing more than to fall apart in his arms.

“I remember you. I remember us. And I am so in love with you, Valen Ward.”

He groans, taking my mouth hard. His hand slides into my hair, anchoring me in place, as he kisses me like he hasn’t seen me in forever. I guess, in a way, it’s true.

Eventually, he pulls back, his nose skimming mine. “You ran.”

“Not from you. Never from you. From me. Everything came back all at once, and…”

“You didn’t want it to be true. I know, but you’ve come this far now. It’s time to finish it so that you can finally be free.”

“I’m ready.”

“There’s my girl,” he murmurs against my lips before he lowers me to my feet.

“He know who I am yet?” He nods to Nathan, whose face is as white as snow.

“That you’re my fiancé? No, we haven’t gotten that far yet.”

“What have you told him?”

“Nothing. I was just getting started.”

“Well, don’t let me stop you. I’ll just sit back and watch the show.”

I kiss him again before turning and walking back over to Nathan.

“So, where to begin?” I muse, tapping my chin. “I know. How about one long night twelve years ago? Do you remember that far back?”

When he doesn’t answer, Valen chuckles. “How much did you give him?”

“Just a tiny dose of flunitrazepam in his juice. It won’t keep him compliant for long. Now, where was I? Oh yeah, twelve years ago. Twelve years ago, I had parents and a sister. But you knew that, didn’t you?”

I see him swallow hard, his finger twitching as he tries to fight the flunitrazepam I’ve given him.
