Instead, she kept her attention on her girls. They were all here except Gwen. She and Dominic were away for several weeks.

“That’s not fair!” Kiesha cried. “I was only trying to help Isa.”

“I am not constipated.” Isa leaned across the table to say quietly. “I’m fine. I took so long because I was talking to someone.”

Was she fine, though?

Why did she have frequent dizzy spells? And feel so tired all the time?

You’re being silly. You’re just not sleeping well because Loki is away.

That was part of it. The only problem was that she’d been feeling this way for a while.

Just then, Red started reading out the next question in the quiz, so she pretended to pay attention even though they all knew Juliet carried the weight on this team. It wasn’t that Isa wasn’t smart.

She just wasn’t Juliet smart.

And there was nothing wrong with that.

Despite how disappointed her father was that she hadn’t done better . . . done more with her life.

Because apparently, having graduated college, gotten a well-paying job, and being a good person just weren’t enough for him.

Thankfully, her dad and Judy had moved away several years ago, and other than Christmas and Thanksgiving, she didn’t have to deal with them.

And she wouldn’t even go to those if it wasn’t for her brothers. Because while Judy might dislike her . . . she’d actually been a good mother to her own children. And Isa loved those idiot brothers of hers.

Christmas and Thanksgiving was often the only times she saw them.

The jerks could make the effort to visit her more often.

“Isa? You look kind of pale. Are you sure you’re not ill?” Georgie broached carefully.

Isa gave her a smile, knowing she was just being a good friend. “I’m fine. I’m just really tired.”

“Maybe you need one of my special drinks,” Kiesha said, jumping up. “I’m gonna go make you one.”

A look of alarm filled Cleo’s face. “Kiesha, no! Noah said you’re not allowed behind the bar anymore.”

Even Juliet looked up. Then she blinked as though surprised to find herself in a bar filled with people.

“Pfft. What’s he gonna do? Spank me?” Kiesha said with a grin.

“He won’t spank you, but I might.” Harry moved in behind Kiesha, wrapping his arm around her waist. “What trouble are you getting up to?”

“Daddy!” Kiesha turned and wrapped herself around the attractive older man, who was also her Daddy and fiance. “You’re back!”

Harry had been away for a few days. Which was probably why Kiesha was acting even crazier than usual. Harry helped keep her steady and calm.

Well, sort of.

“I was just going to go make Isa a drink because she’s tired. And maybe a little constipated.”

Isa groaned and dropped her head back, staring up at the ceiling. Actually, that wasn’t a great idea since the world started spinning.

Fear filled her tummy, but she pushed it aside.

She reminded herself not to worry about this. It was nothing. She’d just keep on keeping on and everything would be fine.
