Plus, this was Isa. She loved him.

And then her arms went around him from behind and he breathed in her sweet coconut scent.

“Morning, Tink,” he said in a husky voice.

Fuck. His hard-on hadn’t gone down yet. He should have gone and taken care of it before she’d come out.

“Morning, Ki-Ki.”

He loved that she was calling him that more.

“What you cooking?”

Hmm, she was close to Little headspace. That could be a fun way to spend the day.

“Scrambled eggs, bagels, and fruit salad.”

“Yum!”

He turned off the stove and spun around, lifting her up and placing her on the counter. Reaching over, she grabbed a strawberry and popped it into her mouth.

“Delicious.”

He raised his eyebrows. “Not as delicious as you.”

Isa was wearing her pajamas, her hair was wild, she hadn’t showered, and there was a look of such happiness coming from her.

She was glowing.

“You’ve never looked so beautiful,” he told her.

“What? No! I’m a mess.” She attempted to pat down her hair and he took her hands and placed them in her lap.

“You could never be a mess.” Leaning forward, he kissed her lightly.

“Oh no!” she cried, pulling back.

What was it? Didn’t she want him kissing her?

“I still have morning breath!” She put her hand over her mouth. “Dontkissme.”

Loki shook his head at her ridiculousness and tugged her hand away from her mouth. “You don’t have morning breath and you won’t ever hide your lips from me, understand?”

Her eyes widened and her hand dropped. “Wow, that was super-hot.”

“It was?”

“Yep.” She wiggled on the counter. “Maybe we should leave breakfast and go . . . get it on.” She waggled her eyebrows and winked at him with exaggeration.

He burst into laughter.

“What? What is it? Damn it! That was my best go at seducing you. It didn’t work?”

“You’re a nut,” he told her, leaning his forehead against hers. “And I love you.”

It came out of him without thought. It wasn’t as though he hadn’t told her that he loved her before. But this was different.

He. Loved. Her.
