“We don’t want any trouble. We’re just enjoying a night of paintball wars,” he says as he stands to his feet. I smirk at him and step closer, lowering my gun to my side.

“Paintball, huh?” I whip my gun around and blow a fucking hole in his little friend sitting next to where he’d been sitting. “I didn’t get the memo that it was only paintball. Oops.” Mike stands there, his hands in the air.

“Just go. We won’t say a word.” Now I chuckle.

“You know, one of those bullets that was meant to be mine went through my window and almost hit my girl. It came way too close for comfort,” I tell him. His eyes roam, no doubt counting our numbers. We’ve got them outnumbered.

“I didn’t know!”

“You didn’t know there would be Princesses attending an event put on by the Kings?” I ask him casually. “He didn’t know,” I say, looking at the guys behind me. They laugh.

“I mean it! I didn’t know.”

“Such a sad story.” I step closer to Mike and wrap my gloved hand around the back of his neck, pulling him face to face with me.

“There were children there. Women. Did you care if you killed an innocent child?”

“W-we didn’t,” he stutters.

“But you could have, yes?” he slowly nods his head before I shove him back a step. “The Kings take pride in the work we do.”

“We can fix this!”

“How? How can you fix this?” I ask him as the others move in closer. They know I’m about to hit my breaking point, Silas and Levi too.

“I-I-I don’t know! Just tell us what to do, and we’ll do it.” I laugh now.

“You think it would be that easy? After almost killing innocent women and children?” I laugh again, raise the gun, and fire. As soon as the bullet leaves the barrel, the others do the same. I watch as the Crows fall to the ground. Then I reach up and remove my goggles. I close my eyes and curse as something hits me in the face. No, not my face, my eye.

“Fuck!” I roar as I reach up and wipe the paint from my eyelid before glancing around. “There’s another one out there!” I roar. The guys move, except Levi and I, who stay back. The vision in my right eye is blurry as fuck, and the pain is shooting through my face.

“Was it a direct hit?” Levi asks.

“Yeah. Luckily my fucking eyes were closed, but this shit is going to bruise.”

“Let me see,” he says, shining a flashlight into my eyes. “Yeah, you can see where it hit. You’re probably going to be blurry for a while, and it’s a nice fucking cut.” Great. Just what the fuck I need.

We wait for the guys to return. When they do, we’re ready to head out. I pull out my cell and call my dad letting him know everything was handled.

We walk back through the trees until we reach the cars and toss the guns into one of the trunks.

“Make sure you clean them,” I tell them. The guys nod and climb in, taking off as we get to our SUV.

“You good?” Silas asks as I keep rubbing at my eye.

“Yeah. Fucking paintball hit me right in the goddamn eye.”

“Oh fuck. That shit hurt,” he says.

“No, shit.” I shrug out my vest and toss it on the seat next to me as I sigh and lay my head back.

“You in a hurry?” Silas asks from the front.

“No. Why?”

“Thought we’d grab a few drinks to wind down,” he says.

“That’s fine with me.” It’s not really, but I don’t want to be an asshole either after what we just did. I want to get back to Syn. I want to see her. I had plans for her that involved rope and a dildo. Guess that will have to wait.
