“Valencia?” Lola called out to the woman.

“Yes?” She turned around looking like she was in trouble.

“You think you can email us those photos?” Lola smiled.

“Oh, yes of course, Mrs. Valbuena,” she said quickly.

“Hi, I’m Noemi,” I said, extending my hand out.

“Valencia, I’m the team's social media manager,” she said proudly. “It’s nice to meet you, but I have to get down before the team gets on the ice.”

“That’s awesome, Valencia. It was nice to meet you too,” I said, before she walked away.

“You look mighty comfortable with that baby, Em.” Easton sat next to me.

“You want to hold her?” I offered, assuming he would say no, but he took her with ease.

Damn. Easton with a baby was dangerous.

“I held my niece a lot when she was little, but god, I miss her baby scent,” he said, kissing Penelope on the forehead, inhaling her sweet smell.

I took pictures of Easton wanting to capture this moment in case babies weren’t in our future. We spent the rest of the game passing the baby around, cheering for the Yetis and enjoying our group.

As the end of the game drew near, I sat in the front row of the stadium seats we had in the suite. Easton and I cheered as our team tried to catch up. I loved that Easton had finally loosened up enough that he was able to enjoy life. We still had no contact with his family, after Easton suspected they wanted to use the attention to benefit their political campaign.

Vincent was so angry he bought their company out of frustration when there were no leads on our attackers and Easton let him run it how he saw fit. The company was over-selling their medications so much their profits were ridiculous, Vincent did an enormous rehaul and they cut their profits making only what they needed, while offering affordable medication to thousands of people.

I was proud of him for moving forward and I hoped we never had to see them again. Easton was busy focusing all his energy on his charity and I loved the passion he had when he spoke about it.

Vincent was finally able to join us in the last few minutes of the game. He was cheering on his team and I really hoped things went well for his investment. They were really hoping for a great turnout this season, hoping to recoup some money, but also wanting to build the team into something Denver could be proud of. They spared no expense in revamping the team and I had a good feeling about it.

I kissed both their cheeks, loving that life had brought me to them. I guess I had Vincent's douchebag son to thank for leading me to them. I may or may not have gotten my revenge when I saw him last time telling him he could call me mommy, wishing I could have taken a picture of his expression and kept it on my nightstand. I might have also said if he didn’t let Vincent see the kids, I would email photos of us to his wife and tell her everything. That moment was priceless and even though I had never received a cent from him making sure Vincent could see his granddaughters made up for it… a little.

“What’s got you smiling like that?” Vincent asked.

“Just thinking about where life has brought me,” I said, laying my head on his shoulder.

“And where did it bring you?” Easton asked, looking at me.

“It brought me here. I’ve received great satisfaction that I’m now a stepmom to my ex and I get to see his eyes bug out every time he sees me,” I said, laughing.

Easton laughed while Vincent shook his head.

“Karma’s a bitch,” Easton chuckled.

“She truly is and I’m glad I’m not on her bad side,” I said.

“If I didn’t know better, I would have thought Karma’s name was Noemi,” Vincent smirked.

“In Patrick’s case, Karma is definitely named Noemi Guzman-Barros.” I chuckled, glad that I had gotten the last laugh.
