I expected him to say something witty or petulant and boast that he had fucked her first, but I was met with silence.

“You there?” I checked the phone to make sure we were still connected.

“Yeah, I have to go. I hope she calls,” he said, not even giving me a moment to say anything before ending the call. As I pulled the phone away, it rang with an unknown number.

“This is Vincent,” I said, putting the phone to my ear.

“Hi.” Noemi’s voice brought a smile to my face.

“Hello, Princesa,” I replied. “How are you?”

“Uh… I’m good and you?” She sounded nervous.

“Great, I'm getting ready to leave my office,” I said, turning off the lights, leaving out through the hallway that still had a few people in it.

“That’s good,” she said. “I was calling to take you up on your offer for dinner.”

“Tonight?” I knew it was a long shot, but I had already been waiting way too long for her to get back to me.

“I… I can't. I'm driving back from Colorado Springs. Maybe we could do tomorrow?”

“Ok, pack a bag and I’ll pick you up,” I said, hitting the call button on the elevator.

“I can meet you at the restaurant,” she said firmly. “For all I know you might be a serial killer and I can't have you knowing where I live.”

I laughed.

“Fine, let’s meet at Vida,” I said immediately, realizing Lincoln owned that one. “Actually, let’s meet at Luna.”

“Oh…”

“Bad choice?” I wondered if it had changed since I had last been here.

“No, not at all, it's just I've heard the waiting list is months long,” she said, surprised. “Feed me tacos, margaritas and give me an orgasm. I’m not a complicated girl, Vincent.”

I laughed, enjoying her bluntness.

“I’ll keep that in mind, Noemi. A friend of mine owns it and if we can’t get in, I’ll call or text you.” I stepped onto the elevator. “Would you please text me your email?”

“My email?” she asked, confused.

“Yes, I heard you had a good time with Easton, and I’d like to have you read some things about the lifestyle,” I said, rubbing my jaw. “That is, if you're still up for dipping your toes.”

“What? Did you and Easton gossip about me like school girls?”

I laughed again thinking their brattiness was the reason she and Easton got along so well.

“I might have called him thinking he hadn’t given you my number, but he didn’t give me any more details,” I said, hoping I didn’t scare her off.

“I think I would like to dip my toes a little more,” she whispered.

Her voice was a little deeper, and I knew I had her hooked.

“Send me your email and I’ll see you tomorrow Princesa,” I said, as the elevator hit the ground floor.

“Ok. Bye.”

I hung up with a big smile on my face. I had a good feeling about this one, and it had been way too long since I broke in a sub or had a contract with one.
