“Noemi is a smart woman, you make it sound like I’m taking advantage of her,” Vincent snapped back.

“Want a refill?” Gabriel asked me. “They’ll just argue all night.”

“Sure.” I sounded skeptical, but it seemed like this was normal for them.

“Nena, do you want something to drink?” Gabriel walked over to Lola.

“Seltzer with lime please,” she said with a beautiful smile on her face.

I glanced over to see Gabriel looking at her with that lovesick expression.

A pang of longing hit me as I remembered them at the charity event and how much they all looked at each other that way.

“Hi, I’m Gabriel.”

He extended his hand out to Noemi, her face growing red. My chuckle escaped because I was pretty sure that is what I looked like when I first met Gabriel Medina. She glared at me before taking his hand, saying her name and that it was nice to meet him.

“Can we get you anything?” he asked Noemi.

“Um… I’ll have another Corona,” she said softly.

“Great.” He walked back to me.

“I’m starving, let's get some food,” Lola said as I turned away to follow Gabriel to the bar.

“What can I get you?” the bartender asked.

Gabriel ordered a few drinks and a beer.

“Oh, two Coronas and lime, and a bourbon,” I said looking over at Lola and Noemi.

They were deep in conversation about something, but the small smile on Noemi's face and her relaxed shoulders made me feel better. I had no idea what was going on, but now that I knew that Lincoln was her boss, I assumed she was worried about her job.

“I’m glad Lincoln hired Noemi.” Gabriel broke the silence.

“Is she in trouble?” I might as well ask.

“Nah, Lincoln is just worried that if her relationship with Vincent goes south then it might affect her working with Lincoln,” he said, grabbing his drink. “She’s been great at work, and she stays late to hang out with Lola. Being fired from her old job and her best friend leaving had put Lola in a funk. She had to come to terms with not being so close with the girls from her old job anymore. They’ve only been hanging out for a little over a week, but I see the difference in Lola.”

“I don’t know if Vincent will say anything, but we are in a contract,” I said, thinking maybe that would ease his doubts.

“All of you?” He raised his eyebrow. “I can see it. Vincent does give daddy vibes and if it weren’t for Lincoln, I would have climbed that tree.”

I laughed, catching the attention of everyone before we grabbed our drinks, and passed them out. I left Noemi’s and mine at the coffee table to get something to eat.

“These mini hotdogs are good,” Noemi said as I got close to her, setting her plate down to get something else.

“Oh fuck,” Noemi’s legs buckled but I wasn’t quick enough to catch her.

“Noemi?” Lola sounded concerned.

“Uh.” Her voice was breathy. “Yeah, my knee has been giving me problems.”

“Are you sure? Maybe you should sit down,” Lola suggested as I glanced over my shoulder at Vincent with a smirk on his face.

“I think I just need fresh air,” Noemi said with a shaky voice.

“I got you, Em,” I said, helping her walk outside of the suite box and then because Vincent is an asshole my plug also started to vibrate when the door shut.
