“She’s only beautiful on the outside. Trust me on that.”

“Who does she think she is? No thigh-gap? Who even says that?”

I chuckle. “I don’t even know what that is, but your response was perfect. She’ll be stewing on that one for a while.”

She giggles and I can’t help but laugh a little deeper. “Let’s go back to the hotel. I’ve been holding back all night from jumping you in that suit.”

“I’m glad you like what you see.”

My heart thumps in my chest that she did that for me. That she took that step to mark what’s hers. She made sure Claudia, and everyone else in the room, know how much she wants me.

“Oh, I more than like it,” she whispers.

I pull her to me, backing her up against the wall as she gasps. My erection digs into her stomach as I cage her in.

“What does that mean, Krasavitsa?”

She shakes her head. “It means everything you do feels amazing.”

I drop my head, the words on the tip of my tongue.

Tell her how you feel.

She waits for it; I can see it in her eyes. The moment is right now.

“Ever since I met you,” I breathe, “You’ve taken my fucking breath away.”

Her lips part and I don’t just want to own her for the night anymore. I want to own her forever and never let her go.

That feeling washes over me and instead of fighting it, I let it consume me.

“So have you,” she whispers.

“Imogen?”

“Yes, Khristian?”

“I think I’m falling in love with you.”

She blinks as I cup her face, waiting to gauge her reaction. She’s about to speak when I hear,

“Khristian? There you are…” I break apart from Imogen as I turn to face Morgan.

A small smile spreads across her face. “Sorry to interrupt.”

I pull back and run a hand over my face, irritated. “What is it?”

“New York called, they have an issue.”

Now? I suppose it is daytime back in the states. “It can’t wait?”

“I wouldn’t be bothering you if it could. I’ll wait by the car.”

I turn back to Imogen. “I’m sorry. Duty calls.”

She pulls onto the lapels of my jacket. “Did you mean that? What you just said?” Her face is almost…. frantic.

I nod. “I haven’t said that to anyone since… since the day I lost my fiancé and our unborn baby.”
