I should make her wait, like she’s made me wait. I should teach her a lesson about keeping me waiting and what that does to me.

If she were mine, she’d be on her hands and knees right now, under my desk, sucking me off.

But I like this… the anticipation. It’s like cat and mouse, though I’m not sure who is the cat and who is the fucking mouse.

My fingers begin tapping out a message before I can stop myself.

Me

Krasavitsa. I’m glad to hear from you.

I don’t add that she’s had me hanging on the line for the last 3 days…

Me

You don’t have to thank me. The pleasure was all mine.

I press send. Then tap out another before I chicken out.

Me

When can I see you again?

The pleasure was all mine? Fuck. I’ve really lost my mind on this girl.

When I see the gray bubble appear as she types back, relief floods through me.

Krasavitsa

I’d love to see you again, Khristian. But… and I’m so embarrassed to ask this, so here goes… what are your rates? I would never expect a freebie, or anything like that. Oh, god, I’m making a balls up of this, aren’t I? ????‍??

I stare at her message and steel my jaw. I’m a fucking idiot.

Of course she thinks she has to pay. I’m pretending to be a fucking prostitute!

And she thinks I’m expensive because the rates at Endeavors are daylight robbery. I do have to keep a hotel running, after all.

Angry with myself, I think about my reply for one moment.

My head turns as Doris appears in my doorway. “Sir, Marcus just said you’ve called a meeting for Friday?”

“Yes.” I look back at my phone.

“Is everything okay?”

I meet her gaze again. “Don’t worry, your job is safe, if that’s what you’re asking.”

Her lips part, but she can see I’m not in the worst of moods, thanks to Imogen, so she plows on.

“Glad to hear it,” she says. “But thanks for the heads up. Shall I prepare morning tea?”

I sigh. “If you must. Not that any of them will be making it past the Danish pastries.”

“Sir?” She quirks a brow.

I give her a look. “I don’t have to tell you how things need to be done around here. You’ve been with me a long time. This is unacceptable. I have to keep holding my executives hands and that isn’t how I do business. They’ve swept things under the rug, and now they have to answer for it.”

“I completely agree. I’ve asked Morgan and Johans to be on standby to fly in to help with this mess.”
