“I bet you do,” I told him with a wide, sweet smile. “Now fuck off, and get out of my face.”

When I heard the bell ring, I was prepared for the attack. My opponent surely hadn’t been to the ring in a few weeks because he’d just made his first mistake. A fact several in the crowd knew because I laughed at the collective groan that ran around the barn.

He lunged forward, and with my fist already raised at my jaw, I let it fly. My fist jabbed out with my whole body weight behind it, and my knuckles connected with his throat in a solid punch, which I followed up with an elbow right to the Adam’s apple.

He stumbled backward, his body trying to bend in half as he coughed reflexively against my assault. I didn’t give him time to recover. As he straightened, I executed a perfect roundhouse kick and got him square in his gut.

As his body bent over, I jumped onto the ropes, and from the second rope, I pushed off and came down hard, my elbow hitting him square between his shoulder blades. As he crashed onto the mat, I grabbed his left leg and brought it up to his back, and then I pressed all my weight into it.

I heard his scream.

I didn’t care.

He was clawing at the mat and screaming as I stretched his leg back at an unnatural angle and no doubt tore his ligaments.

With the force of the pain, he kicked me away from him, and I danced back, barely avoiding a kick to the gut. When he tried to rise, I grabbed his hair and bounced his face off my upraised knee. I felt his nose burst, and I heard the crowd go wild at the spilled blood.

Tossing him away from me as he fell backward, I raised my foot, and with my heel pointed at the right angle, as Kris taught me, I smashed my foot into his face.

He fell onto the mat, unconscious.

Looking up, I shrugged when I saw Vance at the back of the barn glaring at me.

“Winner! Zia!” Bullet said from behind me, his voice tinged with frustration.

As the crowd spoke excitedly or went to make another bet, Bullet came closer to me. “Smug little bitch, aren’t you?” he hissed.

“You wanna go?” I asked him as I watched my opponent come to, and one of the bouncers helped him to his feet. When he hobbled out of the ring, I looked back at Vance and pointed at the retreating figure of my defeated foe.

I saw the eye roll and grinned in triumph.

Ha! I got my two and a half percent.

“You think because you’re fucking the boss, you can cheat?” Bullet demanded furiously.

My punch hit him square in the jaw.

I knew he’d been waiting for me to lose my temper. Bullet didn’t even need a second to recover. His fist flew out and caught me on my cheek. His follow-up punch connected with my right eyebrow, and I felt the flesh burst.

I ignored the screams of surprised excitement from the crowd as we circled each other.

“I’m going to make you bleed, you little bitch.”

“Yeah,” I snarled as I watched his fists and feet. “I’m going to make you a bitch when I cut your dick off.”

“What the fuck are you doing?” Vance yelled as he got into the ring. “This is not happening!”

“It’s happening,” Bullet spat to the side. “I’m teaching her a lesson.”

I said nothing as I watched him. A lesson? I’d teach him a lesson. The arrogant prick was going to bleed tonight, and not just his nose.

“A hundred on Bullet!” someone in the crowd roared.

“Two hundred on Zia!”

More bets were called, and I heard Bullet chuckle darkly. “Better take the bets, boss. This is the fight they want.” We both heard Vance hesitate. “Or are you scared I’ll mess her up too much to suck your dick tonight?”

Vance looked right at me as I wiped the blood from my eye. “Knockout,” he bellowed. “Kick his ass, girl,” he murmured under his breath.
