When he comes into the apartment, he holds up an unopened microwave bag of popcorn. “In case you didn’t have any.”

I love that he knows my snack food of choice for games. I take it from him. “Thanks.”

Then he eyes my outfit. “I see you pulled out the stops for me.”

I roll my eyes. “It’s a hockey game. Not a five-star restaurant in Paris.”

The corner of his mouth turns up. “Do you want to go to Paris?” He toes his shoes off.

Cam is very no-shoes-in-the-house. He values cleanliness like I value real butter. It’s a must in my kitchen.

“I would love to go to Paris. Lydia, who works for me, you know, Brady’s girlfriend? She’s saving for a school trip and I’m a little jealous. I would love to visit as many patisseries in Paris as is humanly possible.” I shut the door behind Cam.

He surprises me by stroking my cheek with the pad of his thumb and giving me a soft kiss. “Then we’ll go to Paris. My treat.”

A shiver rolls through me at his touch. “Are you serious?”

“Do I look like a guy who just talks shit?” He looks offended by the thought. “Or jokes all the time?”

That makes me giggle. “No. Funny guy isn’t how I’d describe you.”

“So to answer your question, yes, I’m serious. Name the dates and we’ll go to Paris.” He murmurs in my ear. “Ma cherie.”

His breath tickles my flesh. “Oh, you’re angling for a blowjob, aren’t you?” I ask, not at all opposed to the idea. Except for one little issue that we need to clear up.

“I don’t have to angle for anything. If I want one, I’ll tell you,” he says. “And you’ll give it to me.”

I suck in a sharp breath. His commanding voice makes me instantly wet. I want him to take my hair, hard, and push me to my knees. But he casually exits my personal space as if he didn’t just lay down the law.

He looks around the apartment as he steps further inside. “I love your apartment, Luna. This is so you. Colorful and creative.”

“Thanks. It’s cozy. But a little lonely now that Dani has moved out.”

Cam sits down on my couch and fishes the remote out from between two couch cushions. “I thought you wanted your own space.”

“I do. But not all the time.”

“Good thing you have multiple boyfriends, then.” He pats the couch. “Come sit with me.”

I love that he uses that term so casually. I decide not to comment, but I can’t contain my smile.

“So we can plan a trip to Paris?” I ask, coyly, dropping onto the cushion beside him.

“Yes. Just tell me when and I’ll clear my work schedule. How about May? Hockey is over by then. Everyone always says Paris in May is unreal.”

He really is serious. “I would love that,” I tell him. “Can you picture Alexsei in Paris? He would be adorable. He would one hundred percent want to take a picture to make it look like he’s holding the Eiffel Tower in his hands.”

Cam nods. “He definitely would do that. And everything would be the best. The best wine he’s ever tasted! The best boat on a river he’s ever taken! The best French bread in the history of French bread!”

That makes me laugh. I love that we both love Alexsei and can share that with each other. “That is so true, and I would love to see that. I can’t afford it, though.”

“I told you, it’s on me.” He turns the TV on and scrolls through the menu to find the Racketeers game. They’re doing opening commentary.

He says it so casually. It’s on me. Like a trip to Paris for three is drinks at McGinty’s.

“How do you make your money exactly?” Cam’s wealth and employment are still a mystery to me.

“Legally, don’t worry.”
