His eyebrows hitched to his forehead. “Never?”

“No.”

He leaned over and dropped a soft kiss to her lips. “I’m honored, little honeybee.”

Before getting out bed, he spread her one more time and gazed before finally murmuring, “It felt like I was branding you as I came inside you.”

“That’s how it felt for me, too,” she confessed.

His hazel eyes narrowed. “Is that a good thing or a bad thing?”

“Good, definitely.”

His satisfied smile was the only response she needed before he disappeared into the bathroom, only to return a minute later with a hand towel and wet washcloth that he used to tenderly clean her up with.

After he tossed the rags toward the closet, he pulled her into his arms and kissed her hair.

“Goodnight, baby. Sweet dreams.”

A sense of contentment she hadn’t felt since the last time she fell asleep in his arms overcame her, and she closed her eyes and drifted off to dreamland.

She would have slept soundly all night, had her neck not itched.

Liam

He felt her toss and turn all night, as if she were unable to get comfortable.

Meanwhile, he’d never felt more relaxed.

Three orgasms and the woman he’d been fantasizing about for over a month lying next to him wearing his collar with his cum dripping out of her would do that to a guy.

When he woke at his normal five a.m., he slipped out of bed to go to the bathroom, brush his teeth, and let Phoebe out and then feed her—since that was now her routine. But instead of getting started on the rest of his day, he found himself back in his bedroom.

The late summer sun had peeked over the horizon, so he was able to study her face when he crawled back into bed with her. She looked like an angel as she slept. There was a smattering of freckles along the bridge of her nose and under her long eyelashes that he hadn’t noticed before that he found endearing. Then he glanced down and spotted her red neck and missing collar.

Looking around, he saw it lying on the nightstand next to her.

Fuck.

Had she had an allergic reaction to the platinum?

Liam had been sure to buy quality jewelry for exactly that reason. He was going to have to apologize to her when she woke up.

He slipped an arm around her naked waist, and she immediately nestled closer to him with a sweet sigh.

Damn, he could get used to hearing that sound.

“What time is it?” she mumbled.

“It’s early, baby. Go back to sleep.”

She let out a sigh. “’Kay.”

I’m just having a good time and enjoying an advantageous situation, he reminded himself.

The devil on his shoulder adopted Parker’s voice, and it rang out in his head. “Yeah, sure you are.”
