But he didn’t see the drug-fuelled Daughter…

No.

He saw me.

I clenched even harder, shaking my head, gnawing what was left of his mangled flesh, until I gave a savage jerk of my head and tore his member free.

Screams came. Bloody, sickening screams, as I shoved against the desk and drove myself upwards. I didn’t care that I was naked. Didn’t care about the blood running down the back of my throat and out of my mouth as I turned my head and spat, dislodging that thing from between my teeth.

“YOU FUCKING BIT ME!” Coulter howled as he cupped the bleeding, spurting, wound between his legs and staggered backwards. “YOU BITCH. YOU FUCKING BITCH! I’LL KILL YOU! I’LL?—”

I unleashed a scream and lunged, driving myself through the air until I slammed into him. His knees buckled, crumpling underneath him until we hit the floor. I attacked with an inhuman ferocity, driving my fist into those wide, unblinking eyes.

“You!” Thud. “Fucking!” Thud. “MONSTER!” I shrieked, and drove my fist into his face as hard as I could.

Crunch!

Blood shot out of his nose, but then my hair was fisted and yanked me back hard. Fire seared my scalp as I was dragged free and thrown to the side.

“Get him out NOW!” The guard above me roared.

But I wasn’t done. I wasn’t anywhere near done.

I twisted and drove my clenched fist up into his balls. With an agonized oof, he doubled over, releasing my hair. I scurried like a savage on all fours, grabbed one of the books discarded from the desk, and spun.

Vivienne screamed as one of the guards dragged her to her feet, lifting her until her spine bowed and her eyes widened.

“The fuck you do!” I roared and scrambled forward, launching myself toward him like a madwoman.

The heavy book in my hand became a weapon. One I drove through the air and into the guard’s side.

He buckled sideways, screaming as he fell. But I didn’t stop. I couldn’t stop. I was neither the powerful woman nor the broken one anymore.

I was an animal.

A monster.

The Daughter they’d tried to ruin, only for her to become something else.

Something unhinged.

And dangerous.

I gripped the book with both hands and slammed it into him again until it slipped from my grasp as he buckled to the floor.

“Shoot her!” He screamed. “Shoot the fucking BITCH!”

Vivienne shoved forward, grabbed the book from the floor, and lifted it high over her head. With a chilling, terrifying scream, she brought it down with all her weight. It slammed into his throat, crushing his windpipe with a sickening thunk!

His eyes flew wide. His breath was caught in his lungs. Panic filled his stare as he clawed his throat.

“Choke on that, motherfucker.” Vivienne snarled as she eased backwards.

“Call the Sons!” Coulter screamed as the three remaining guards grabbed him and lifted, dragging him toward the doors. “CALL THE GODDAMN SONS!”

On some level that broken part of me knew once they did, this would be all over. We’d never survive. No one could.

“Kill…them.” Vivienne moaned as she grabbed her stomach and looked down.
