I froze, glancing at him. “In an elevator?”

He shrugged. “Either we go up and we get out of here, or we go down and…”

“And we’re fucked.” Thomas finished, then shifted his focus my way. “I don’t like this.”

“Well.” Riven snapped, striding forward as the doors opened. “Right now, we’re out of options.”

He stepped in and turned, staring at us.

“Fuck.” Thomas snarled as Kane followed his brother.

We had no idea what was down there. The Sons…the Order…Coulter?

A shiver ran through me. Riven threw out his hand as the doors started to close, holding them open. “Coming, Trouble?”

I had no choice but to follow. We were like the tide and the moon now, there was no one without the other.

I stepped inside and Riven lowered his hand, letting the doors closed. One glance at the buttons and I knew with a sinking feeling there was no way we were going up. The only buttons for this elevator were down.

“Shit.” Kane muttered as we sank.

I shot him a glare. “That’s it?”

He gave a wince, then a shrug. “Better than that fucking room…and the Sons.” He glanced ta Riven. “Where the fuck did they come from?”

Riven just stared straight ahead at the doors. “How the hell should I know?”

Kane gave a humph as we jerked to a halt and the doors opened. “You know something.” He answered as Riven strode out. Thomas followed, leaving Kane to press his hand against the small of my back, steering me out.

This was unlike any goddamn cellar I’d ever seen. I coughed, choking on the musty air, and slapped my hand across my mouth as I stared at the entire wall filled with expensive-as-fuck wine.

Dust coated the amber bottles. Riven glanced at the row, then plucked a bottle from toward the end. “Jesus, this must be worth two hundred thousand. Pity.” He said as he hurled it across the aisle, leaving it to smash against the wall.

I stared at the mess spreading behind us as we turned and made our way deeper into the cellar.

“There has to be another way out of here.” Riven searched the darkness. “Only an idiot would leave one way out with this kind of expense. We need to spread out.”

“The fuck we do.” Kane snapped. “We just did that, remember? Look how well that turned out.”

I shook my head. No…I didn’t want to do that. I didn’t want to be away from any of them.

Let’s see if she’s worth four million.

My throat tightened, the words just a choked whisper as a shudder ripped through me. “No…I don’t…”

BOOM!

The faint explosion sounded somewhere far above.

We waited…

“What the fuck was that?” Thomas whispered as we all looked up.

Riven shook his head as the ceiling and the walls trembled. “Nothing good, that’s for sure.”

“We need to get out.” I took a step backwards and swept my gaze along the walls as the glass wine bottles clinked and clashed, one breaking with a crash. “We need to get out of here now.”

All four of us took a step backwards.
