He obliges to my wishes, then looks over his shoulder to ask, “Where to now, boss?”

“Um,” I start. Emily and I look at each other, and she shrugs, asking, “Where’s a good place to clear your head?”

“Um…” the driver taps his fingers against the steering wheel. “There’s the Riverwalk, downtown. Good for couples to take a stroll, maybe sit at a bar… It’s nice.”

Emily and I look at each other again, and nod.

“Yes, please take us there!” Emily says, cheerful.

“Can you please give us some privacy?” I ask.

After the driver raises the divider, I kiss Emily hungrily and nibble her lower lip. She moans and replies back with nibbles on my ear and my neck.

“You haven’t touched me properly since the game,” she purrs happily. “I knew Ali’s visit would cheer you up.”

I give her a deep, tender kiss. Alissa definitely cheered me up, but she’s not what I want to think about right now.

With only one free hand, I’m desperate to touch her so I explore under the thin fabric of her blouse, to find her bra that opens in the front.

She keeps on kissing my neck while I play with her chest, so soft and round, and impossible not to squeeze. I lift the blouse and stare at them, enticed by her rock-hard pink nipples.

“What if he can see us?” Emily murmurs, looking towards the front of the limo. “Or hear us?”

“So what?” I go down to her chest and bring a nipple in my mouth. “Plus, eyes on the road and all.”

She moans and her body trembles as I suck on her nipples, but her voice is so unsure I am not sure if I should keep going.

“Do you wanna stop?” I ask, and I’m met with silence. “If you’re not having a good time, I won’t be having a good time.”

“Well, the truth is, no I don’t want you to stop,” Emily says, and I grin as she brings my lips back down to her chest.

We get to the Riverwalk, and it’s truly gorgeous. Lush palm trees swap in the warm breeze and colorful boats and kayaks drift lazily along the river.

While Emily takes in the view, I tip the driver and thank him. “Do you want me to pick you up later?” the driver asks.

“No, thanks. We’ll just call another car when we’re ready to go home.” I wave to him and walk away. The limo driver nods then drives off, and I reach for Emily’s hand and begin to walk.

“Did you talk to Terry?” It’s the first thing she asks, and I know exactly why she’s asking.

“No. He was either running away from me or too involved with his daughter to give me attention,” I say.

“I know why he’s running away from you,” Emily says, looking upset.

“Why?” now I’m worried.

“He said something about how you couldn’t retire,” she frowns.

I furrow my brow, confused and upset, curling even my bad fist inside the splint. “That’s not how it works, Emily. If I wanna end my career I can, I just have to handle it properly with the NHL. He just has to handle it, that’s his job.”

“Maybe you should call him?” Emily suggests, gently rubbing my shoulder.

I grab my phone from my back pocket and stare at it for a moment. It now has a picture of me and Alissa as the lock screen, which only makes me more certain of what I want to do.

I video call Terry and soon I have Terry’s mug glaring at me.

“Hello?” he answers, sounding tired.

“Hey man, where are you?” I say, staying friendly for now.
