"Believe what you want, but it's the truth." I merely shrugged her off with a half-smile before letting my body sway with hers to the music.

The more Hanna's hips gyrated against me, the more I started to regret agreeing to the dance because my stupid dick didn't get the memo to stay home. No doubt Hanna would feel it with how her hips swayed across the length of my hips and pressed into me. I only hoped it wouldn't kill the rhythm.

Whatever reason I had in my brain fled the moment I got carried away by Hanna's ministrations. My hands held her hips possessively against me as I ground back at her, matching her movements with my own as I let myself fade a little.

"You're packing tonight aren't you?" Hanna's sultry voice teased at my ear with a giggle as she slowed down her grind to press harder into me. "And I doubt that's your Korth I'm feeling."

"Can you blame me? I got the hottest girl in the club grinding her luscious ass against me." I couldn't tell if Hanna blushed at my words or if it was a reflection of the lights on her fair skin when the redness bloomed on her face.

Leaning my head down, I press my face into the side of her hair to take a quick whiff of her before chuckling into her ear. "Also, if you ever feel my gun anywhere besides its holster or tucked into the back of my pants, take it out and shoot me with it, especially if I'm stupid enough to stuff it down the front of my pants."

"And miss the chance to watch it blow up in your face? Or in that case blow off Stepan junior?" Hanna threw her head back in laughter before looking at me with a relaxed smile as she went back to grinding against me along with the beat of the music.

"You'd want the best part of me to be gone?" I teased back, holding back my cringe at the thought of any bits of me getting shot at—especially anything in my crotch area.

The little gleam in her eyes sparkled under the strobing lights, sending a soft shiver down my spine. "Sweetie, the best part of you isn't between your legs or in your pants, so I'll live." She whispered in my ear with a deep, teasing giggle. "Besides, you'll still have your fingers. Now hush and just dance with me for a little longer."

It didn't take long for us to fall into each other fully as if no one else existed in the place. Our bodies moved in sync like the natural flow of water down the river. If only we could rush over the edge and crash below like a waterfall. Too bad we flowed down into a walled dam.

We only intended to stay for a song or two at most, but time escaped us until Hanna brought reality back by dragging us back to the bar for one last drink. "Well, I probably shouldn't keep you long, it's getting late and I'm sure you need some sleep before going into the office tomorrow." She sounded almost disappointed with her words before finishing the rest of her drink with a blank smile.

Finishing the last of my drink, I slid off the stool and placed my hand on the small of her back, helping her off the stool. "Will you be fine to drive? Want me to have one of the people here take you home?" I hope to dear God she doesn't take the latter because I instantly regretted it once I put the idea out there.

Again, the thought of her being in the same space as another person had that icky feeling clutching at my chest. Even if I knew the guards here wouldn't—hopefully—try anything, she was a good-looking woman who could test any man's resolve.

"No, that's okay, I was just going to Uber home." She replied in a small voice after leaning up a bit so she was closer to my ear.

Just when I thought the feeling couldn't get any worse. Fuck it. "I'll drive you home. I won't let you get into some random person's car," I declared firmly as I guided us toward the underground parking garage.

"Yet you just recommended me to get into one of the worker's car, who would be a stranger to me by the way." She remarked with a chuckle and roll of her eyes.

"At least I know them, so I know you'll be safe in the end." And at the very least, I would know who to hunt down if a hair on her head was out of place.

"You don't have to, pretty sure you have—"

I cut her off by stopping and looking at her pointedly. "I'm taking you home, end of discussion little tigress. My business here is done for tonight, I was on my way to leave when I saw you by the bar and decided to make a little detour, so don't worry about me wasting time or anything on you. Now, you can either be a good girl and get in without a fight or I will put you in myself."

"Wow, controlling much?" She retorted with a soft snort and chuckle. "But fine, I'll be a good girl, for now."

I couldn't help but widen my smirk at the feeling of victory when she caved. "Good girl." The way her cheeks were flushed did good to pin the corners of my lips in a smirk, too.

"Holy shit." Not sure if she meant to say it out loud because of how whispery it came out, but her shocked reaction when we stopped at my McLaren was adorable. "I much prefer something more rugged like a Jeep Wrangler, but holy shit that is one sexy car."

Chuckling softly, I opened the passenger door and gestured for her to get in. "Is that why you were practically drooling when I showed you the company's garage and cars the other day?"

Honestly, I much preferred an SUV to a sports car or sedan because of the room and durability. No way could I ram someone with this delicate luxury car, but a nicely modified Range Rover or Land Cruiser was a perfect battering ram if need be. Also, I much preferred the room to store everything needed for my rifles.

"Sweetie, if only you knew. Seriously, I am so going to have so much fun driving half those vehicles around like a giddy girl at a fucking candy shop." She practically bounced on the tip of her toes as she giggled excitedly in her spot for a moment before hesitantly slipping into the seat.

"Man, I feel like I shouldn't be sitting in this sexy thing." Again, with a forced smile and chuckle despite her disappointment.

Leaning against the open door with a raised eyebrow, I looked at her intrigued. "Why would you say that?" Time to try and dig a little into her psyche.

Her smile softened sadly as she stared ahead. "I'm at the bottom rung of society, I don't deserve to be in the same space as anything luxurious."

"Hanna, no. You deserve everything because you're a damn queen in your own right. I don't want to hear any more of that kind of thinking and attitude from you from here on out or else." It disheartened me to see her have self-esteem issues because of how confident she held and displayed herself.

"Or else what?" She challenged with a cocky smirk as her wild eyes sharpened.
