Huffing heavily, I reluctantly released myself, slamming both my open palms against the wall and pushing myself up straight. I needed to get out of the damn shower and get on with my day before I let myself become consumed by the little tigress.

At least my erection settled by the time I finished showering and got dressed, and my sexual frustration ebbed enough by the time I got to the office—thank God.

Thankfully, she wasn't physically around my field of vision either because I didn't know if I could keep myself in full check if I saw her feisty face right now. Unfortunately, her melodic voice echoed clearly throughout the place as she conversed with someone, effectively lighting a fire under my already boiling kettle.

Ignore her, just ignore her, go to your office, shut it, ignore-

"Don't you still have that report to do Dave?" I mentally scolded myself for letting my control slip the moment I caught the close distance between Hanna and another worker out of the corner of my eye.

I barely managed to force a fake, friendly smile while doing my best to keep my irritability from slipping through my voice.

"On your desk boss, just like you wanted." The little shit dared turn his goofy, smiling face back to Hanna, who seemed a little too attenuative in response.

"Hanna, I need to talk with you in my office about your assignment today." My legs ached to stride over to Hanna and position myself between her and Dave.

It irked me to see her attention on him or anyone for that matter. The feeling gnawed at my chest again, making me want to scowl to display my disdain.

Smiling innocently, Hanna gave me a small wave of dismissal, making me feel like some annoying fly to be shooed away. "Oh, Lev already gave me my assignment for today, that's what I was talking to Dave about actually. So, don't worry, you don't have to put up with me this morning."

Fucking Lev, the one time he doesn't need to do his damn job, he does it.

It was a struggle to maintain the empty smile on my face to seem polite and hide my turbulent emotions. "Oh, then carry on then." No, please don't, because I might end up needing to hide a damn body and fill another open spot if she did.

Hanna instantly turned her attention back to Dave, who seemed more than happy to have it all to himself again.

Did she know what she was doing? Was this on purpose?

It felt like a hammer to my chest when she dismissed me so quickly. Judging from her relaxed body and genuine expressions, she clearly didn't have any ill intentions with her actions and words. Unless she was a damn good actor, it was all in my damn head.

Annoyed, I softly clicked my tongue as I silently slipped into my office, shutting—slamming—the door harder than I intended. Then, one of my irritations sat smugly on the couch to make matters worse.

"What's a matter Stepan? Didn't catch enough sleep?" The lift to Lev's jovial tone, paired with his loosely smug grin and teasing eyes, told me all I needed to know.

The little fucker knew fully well what he did.

"Hanna's fitting in real well I'll say. You know, we should just forgo the rest of her trial period and hire her already. I mean, she's perfect and everyone in the office loves her little sparky personality. Always coming in with an excited grin on her face, the little pep and bounce to her step as people like to say, and always dressed in the most—"

THUD!

Lev's heavy body hit the floor with a winded grunt.

Standing above him with a coy smirk, I looked down at him with playful, narrowed eyes. "Sorry, thought I saw something under your foot."

It was too easy to grab Lev by his ankle and throw him onto the ground. Lev had his legs thrown up on the coffee table with his ankles crossed, and his body was stretched out from how he leaned back into the couch with his arms behind his head.

Catching him off guard in such a relaxed state was child's play to me. Even if he was heavier than me, using his legs to twist and pull him off the seating area made his size mean nothing to me.

"Blyat'." Lev strained out while glaring up at me. "Okay, but I kind of deserve that." He groaned softly in pain, slowly sitting up by using the edge of the table as support.

Dropping my smirk, I glared deeply at him as my lips dropped into a small scowl. "Ya think?" My leg twitched with an itch to shoot out and kick Lev, playfully, of course.

Just some brotherly love, no actual hostility. I knew Lev was being a teasing little shithead with his words, being the troublesome little brother, but it still twisted my gut the wrong way. So, the temptation to bully him a little to put him back in his place itched at my limbs.

Out of the five of us, Lev was probably the biggest nuisance, in a good way. He was always the troublemaker, stirring up trouble whenever he could, no matter how small or big the mess would be. In hindsight, it was all a vie for attention, then pretty sure it was to rebel against our bastard of a father, and at this point in his life, it was a habit, surely.

I should have known better now than to turn my back on Lev in moments like these, but that would be a lesson I'd never learn because I found myself on the ground with the wind knocked out of me and Lev laughing in the background.

The fact he'd grabbed my ankles and tripped me didn't register in my dazed mind until I recovered a minute later. "Ty, razdrazhayushcheye malen'koye der'mo." I grumbled playfully with a curled upper lip.
