Tears stung at my eyes from his words.
I wanted that so badly, for him to take care of me, and I knew he would for tonight. But what about after? Did he know the depths of his words? I shouldn't dwell so deeply about all of it now, but I couldn't help it.
Forcefully, I shoved my worrisome thoughts away and locked them away for later, not wanting to ruin this only moment of ours. I'll save my disappointment for after the fact.
