“I haven’t said yes yet.”

Dominic pauses and pulls his mouth away from me with a reluctant growl. There’s no mistaking the incredulous look on his face as his eyes search my face. “Your mouth hasn’t, but your body has.”

I flush as his heated gaze drops to my exposed breasts and move to try and cover them up. Dominic grasps both of my wrists in his hands and pins them to the door.

“Dominic…”

“Say yes, Sloane.”

He dips his head and starts his assault on my breasts all over again. They’re still restrained by the fabric, but it doesn’t stop him from lavishing attention on them, kissing and suckling until my skin is chafed from the hair of his beard and my need for him is coating my thighs.

“Oh, God.” I’m coming apart at the seams, panting desperately as my mind works overtime to hold on to the point I was trying to make. “You’re not fighting fair.”

When he pulls away from me this time, his smile is sinful. “I told you I was a bastard, angel. Are you really surprised?”

“No. I’m not.”

He nuzzles into my throat. “Say yes.”

It’s supposed to be an order. A command. But somewhere underneath the stern timbre is a thread of desperation that feeds the fire he’s stoked in my veins. The idea of him wanting me so badly, so desperately, that he’s on the verge of begging sends a heady rush of power through me.

“Why are you doing this?”

The muscle in his jaw starts to jump. “Because none of the men you spend time with are worthy of being with you this way.”

“And you are?”

A shadow passes across his face as if my words hurt him, and I almost regret asking the question. “No, but I’m not going to let that stop me from giving you what you need.” His fingers dig into my wrists. “Say yes. Let me take care of you, even if it’s just for tonight.”

“No, I—” I pause to figure out exactly what I’m going to say, and his entire face falls as he starts to pull away. “I want more than a night, Dominic.”

For a moment, he stops moving altogether, and we just stare at each other. Then he releases my hands and rough fingers snake around my back to find the zipper of my dress. I breathe a sigh of relief when the fabric gives, and Dominic’s fingers brush over my bare skin. He takes my mouth again, sliding the straps down my arms. The satin rasps against my skin quietly until it finally lands in a puddle at my feet.

“Fuck.” Dominic hisses through his teeth, taking a step back to look at me in nothing but heels and a lingerie set I didn’t think anyone was going to see tonight. “You’re so God damn beautiful, Sloane. Better than anything I could have ever dreamed.”

This is the second time he’s mentioned dreaming of me, and the words set a thousand butterflies free in my stomach. Their wings flutter madly as my heart pounds in my chest. Before I can speak, he drops down to his knees.

And the sight of him kneeling before me sends a mixture of pleasure and heat dancing down my spine. His face is upturned, and I get to see the dark brown of his eyes turn black. The golden flecks stand out in stark contrast, highlighting his blown pupils and the tender reverence in his gaze. He leans forward and presses a soft kiss to the center of my stomach. A shudder rolls through me. Both of his large hands go to my hips and run over the black lace at my torso.

“Were you going to let him see this tonight?” His eyes are narrowed, showing just how bothered he is by the thought, but his touch is still gentle—infuriatingly so—as I squirm under his ministrations.

“No.”

“Good.” He snaps the garter strap against my thigh and my back arches. The small bite of pain turns my blood into liquid fire. “Does that feel good, angel?”

It does, but I’m not sure why. I’ve never really been into pain with sex, but in the few times I’ve been with Dominic pain has always seemed to be intertwined with pleasure. The scrape of his teeth against my skin. The snap of the strap against my thigh. The rough pads of his fingers digging into my flesh. It all feels new but so damn good.

“Yes,” I admit breathlessly. “But I don’t—” I search for the words. The right way to tell him that this is new territory for me. That we don’t have to go here if he isn’t into it.

“You don’t know why.” He breathes, his lips moving against my inner thigh. “You don’t have to know, it only matters that you want it. And if there’s something you want—” Dark eyes flick up to mine, alight with danger and desire. “—I’m going to be the one to give it to you.”

Lust clogs my throat, preventing me from answering, which is fine because Dominic doesn’t seem to want one. His fingers find the band of my thong and pull it down my legs in one fell swoop. The evidence of my arousal glistens on the thin fabric, and he examines it closely before tossing it to the side. His hands go to my ankle, lifting my left leg and placing it on his shoulder before coming to rest on my ass. He’s holding me in place so he can have an up-close and personal view of the bare skin of my pussy.

He groans, warm breath flowing over the sensitive flesh and making me shiver. “You’re so wet. Who’s all of that for, angel?”

Any other day, in any other situation, I would be annoyed with the question because he’s only asking to remind me of the thing he’s apparently always known, but I just found out in the bathroom at Reign: my desire belongs to him. I rock my hips forward, trying to force him to come closer to the spot where I desperately need him, but he pulls back and bites my thigh.

“Who is it for, angel?” His fingers dig into my skin with a delicious bite as his nickname for me sets sparks off in my mind. I still haven’t figured out why it feels so familiar. “Sloane…”
