KADE

Pulling into the clubhouse’s parking lot, Kade scanned the cars and trucks, smiling when he saw Mya’s parked close to the front. He angled around the building to where members parked their bikes and backed into the space reserved for him.

Before he was even off the bike, he caught the crunching of gravel and looked to the side in time to see Mya running around the corner and straight towards him. Barely getting the helmet off before she landed in his arms, he dangled it from the handlebars as he lifted her, placing her crosswise on the tank. Mya’s arms went around his neck, and she tugged him in for a kiss, her mouth demanding as it met his.

“Hey, baby,” he whispered when they finally broke apart, breathing ragged. “Miss me?”

“I’m never ever going to another weeklong conference. I don’t care how many continuing education units it gets me. I’ll study something at home on the couch next year instead.” She folded against his chest, head resting on his shoulder as she sighed deeply. “I missed you, yes. In case that wasn’t clear.”

“I kinda got the message.” Kade tightened his hold around her, loving the feel of Mya in his arms. “I missed you too.”

“What do you think about me giving up my lease entirely?”

The question seemed to come from left field, but Kade knew it was a decision Mya had struggled with. She’d liked the closeness of her bungalow to the clinic where she worked, but over the past three months, she’d spent few nights there.

And most of those, I’d been right in bed beside her anyway.

Since they’d reconnected in a big way, both Kade and Mya had jealously guarded their time together. Not wanting to make up for lost time, but just unwilling to let any distance come between them.

“I think payin’ the lease is mad, especially when we both know what we want long term.”

“Yeah,” she whispered, settling more solidly against his chest. “I know what I want.”

“Me too. And this is it. This being us, you know?”

“Plus, I don’t think the neighbors would appreciate the Hazzard gang too much, especially Rosco.” Mya giggled, the sound light and happy. “He’s a noisy feller when he’s riled up.”

“That he is.” Kade slid a hand up her spine to cradle the back of her head, fingers tangling in her hair as he tilted her face up. Their lips met in a soft, slow kiss, the caress centering him as it always did. “Takes after his daddy that way. I get loud when I’m riled up too.”

“Oh, are you?” She grinned against his lips, and he kissed her through the smile. “I’d never have known.”

“Woman.” His fake stern tone earned another giggle, and he slapped her ass gently. “Slide off. Let’s head inside and have a beer with the brothers.” She wiggled out of his lap and stood beside the bike as he set the kickstand. “Ready?”

“Yes, sir.” She saluted him with two fingers, then slipped her hand into his, their palms connecting as he wrapped his fingers around hers. “Ready and willing.”

“I’ll remember that for later. Did you ask the other Dr. Taylor if he wanted to stop by?”

Kade had liked the man the moment they’d met, and knowing how much he’d supported Mya through the years had solidified their quick friendship. Lawrence had given Kade the obligatory best-friend talk, threatening to involuntarily commit Kade to a facility if he did Mya wrong, and Kade had agreed that he’d deserve the treatment if he was stupid enough to fuck this up with the woman he loved.

“I did. He said he’d rather meet everyone out at our place, which means we need to plan a cookout.”

He tugged her to a stop and pulled her into his arms, bending his neck to crush his mouth to hers. Mya opened readily, and their tongues danced and glided, the kiss deep and wet. Kade didn’t break the kiss until she was trembling and gasping for breath, and he placed his mouth next to her ear to whisper, “Fucking mine. My Mya. Our place. Our home. You sayin’ that makes me happy, honey. Let’s move you soon as we can.”

“Okay,” she agreed on a giggle, sounding kiss drunk. “You like hearing it and I like saying our place. Ours. We’re building the best kind of thing here, Kade.”

Hand to his chest, she reared back to stare up into his face.

The love for him was clear on her face, a look so soft and real it brought him close to tears.

Arms tight around her, he swayed them side to side as he hummed. Her hand rose to curl around his shoulder, and she kept pace with his movements.

They danced that way, slow and sweet, until Torch opened the back door of the clubhouse to shout at them to come inside already.

“All the slow dances, Mya.” He made the promise as he dipped for another kiss. “For the rest of our lives.”

“I’m here for it.” She took a deep breath, the air hitching a half dozen times as she pulled it in. “Slow dances, bike rides, dog walks, reality TV, cookouts—everything. I’m here for it.”

“Will you come in already?” Torch called from the open doorway.
