“Okay,” I whispered, my voice barely above a breath yet filled with a certainty that echoed in the depths of my soul.

He leaned back, his eyes locking with mine in a silent understanding. “Okay.”

Yarder

Poppy was mine.

Nothing was ever going to change that.

Chapter Seventeen

Poppy

The sun hung low in the sky as Yarder and I neared the clubhouse with the club’s newest additions—Harley and Davidson.

Davidson, the somewhat more adventurous of the two, curled up next to Yarder on the seat between us, while Harley snuggled in my arms, her warm breath tickling my skin.

“They seem to have already found their favorite spots,” I chuckled, glancing over at Yarder with a grin.

He nodded, his eyes fixed on the road ahead. “Seems like it,” he replied with a hint of amusement in his voice. He reached down and patted Davidson’s soft head. “They’re going to be a handful, that’s for sure.”

I couldn’t help but laugh at his understatement. “Oh, I have no doubt about that,” I agreed, running a hand over Harley’s soft fur. “But I think the club is up for the challenge, don’t you think?”

Yarder shot me a sideways glance, a fond smile tugging at the corners of his lips. “Yeah, we are,” he replied, his voice tinged with determination. “Might be a bit rocky at the start, though.”

Before we knew it, we pulled up to the clubhouse, the excitement building with each passing second. As Yarder parked the truck, I could barely contain my excitement, my heart racing with anticipation.

But as we stepped out of the truck, we were met with an unexpected sight - the entire club waiting for us, eager smiles plastered on their faces.

“Well, I wasn’t expecting this,” I remarked, my eyes widening in surprise.

Sloane was the first to approach, her arms outstretched to take Harley from me. “Give her here,” she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with excitement.

Dove followed suit, reaching for Davidson with a grin. “They’re even cuter in person,” she declared, her voice filled with awe.

Yarder and I shared a bemused glance; laughter bubbled between us. “I think we’ve been robbed,” he joked, a playful glint in his eyes.

I couldn’t help but chuckle at his words and leaned over to press a kiss on his cheek. “You know, as soon as they start crying or have an accident in the house, they’ll become your dogs,” I teased, a smile tugged at my lips.

Yarder shook his head, but his smile remained firmly in place. “You’re probably right,” he admitted, his voice laced with amusement.

We entered the clubhouse to find Rocky sprawled out on the floor. Harley and Davidson climbed all over him in a whirlwind of playful energy. “This is the best day ever,” he giggled, his laughter filling the room.

Aero crouched down beside him, his hand outstretched to pet Harley. “So you guys are going to be our mighty and fierce guard dogs?” he joked, a playful glint in his eyes.

Harley responded with a playful bark, jumping up on her hind legs in excitement. Aero gathered her into his arms, a smile tugged at the corners of his lips as he stood.

“I think the only thing they are going to do is impress the chicks,” Pirate chimed in, his voice filled with amusement.

The camera crew bustled around the clubhouse, focusing their lenses on whoever was holding the adorable puppies. “Now this is some good TV,” Smoke joked, a mischievous twinkle in his eye. “We should have got some dogs before filming even started.”

Yarder pulled me into his arms, pressing a kiss to the side of my cheek.

“You know Adalee is going to want to interview you two about picking up the puppies,” Pirate commented, sidling up to us.

Yarder arched an eyebrow. “How would you know that? And the damn camera crew was there when we picked them up. Watch the footage; there ain’t nothing else to say.”

Pirate shrugged, his gaze flicking over to Adalee.
