“Are you okay?” I asked, my voice tinged with concern.

“Not yet, but we’re working on it, babe,” he replied, his tone heavy with exhaustion.

I shifted in his arms, feeling the weight of my earlier mistake pressing down on me. “I was thinking,” I began hesitantly. “What if we just packed up the club and moved? Maybe to Hawaii or somewhere far away from all of this.”

Yarder chuckled softly, pressing a gentle kiss to my cheek. “Well, if my plan doesn’t work out, that can be our backup plan. I’m sure the guys won’t object too much.”

We lapsed into a comfortable silence, the only sound the steady rhythm of our breathing filling the room.

“I’m really sorry about earlier,” I blurted out suddenly, unable to shake the feeling of guilt that gnawed at me. “I know I shouldn’t have gone outside alone. That was really stupid.”

Yarder shifted, his gaze meeting mine with a softness that bellied the intensity of his emotions. “You’re not stupid, babe,” he reassured me, his voice firm yet gentle. “The world I’ve dragged you into is anything but normal. Normal people don’t have to worry about being targeted just for stepping outside their own home.”

“Yeah, but you told me not to go outside alone, and I still did,” I murmured, feeling the weight of my own foolishness pressing down on me. “It was stupid.”

Yarder leaned back, his eyes searching mine with an intensity that made my heart race. “You’re not stupid,” he repeated firmly, his voice leaving no room for argument.

I wanted to believe him, to let his words wash away the self-doubt that clouded my mind, but the fear lingered, stubborn and unyielding. Still, I nodded silently, knowing that arguing with Yarder would only lead to more frustration.

“So, what’s going to happen next?” I asked, eager to change the subject and focus on something other than my own mistakes.

“I’ve got a plan,” Yarder replied cryptically, his tone guarded.

I waited for him to elaborate, but he remained silent, his expression unreadable in the dim light of the room. “I’m waiting,” I prompted, my curiosity getting the better of me.

Yarder shook his head, his jaw tightening with resolve. “I’m not getting you involved in this, babe,” he said firmly. “None of the girls know about it, and that’s how it’s going to stay. When we leave in a couple of days, you, along with the girls, Aero, Throttle, and Cue, are taking the camera crew in the opposite direction. That’s all you need to know. If anything happens, you guys can’t be traced back to it.”

My heart sank at his words, a knot of worry forming in the pit of my stomach. Whatever Yarder was planning, it didn’t sound promising if he was sending us away. “Yarder,” I whispered, my voice trembling with fear. “You better come home to me.”

He pulled me close, tucking my head against his chest in a silent promise of safety and protection. “I’ll always come home to you, Poppy.”

Chapter Twenty

Yarder

The tension in the room was palpable as we gathered around the table, the weight of our impending meeting with Boone and Gibbs hanging heavy in the air. I took my place at the head of the table, the gravity of the situation settling like a lead weight in my gut.

“It’s set,” I announced, breaking the heavy silence that had settled over us like a shroud.

“How do we know Russ didn’t set us up?” Stretch’s voice cut through the tension, his skepticism mirroring the doubts that gnawed at the edges of my own mind. “We could be walking into an ambush.”

Throttle shook his head, his expression grim. “Russ isn’t setting us up. He’s just as eager to see this shitshow come to an end as we are.”

I nodded in agreement, my trust in Russ unwavering despite the lingering doubts that plagued us. “As crazy as it seems, I trust Russ. If this meeting can get Boone and Gibbs off our backs, then it’s worth the risk. Dove’s safety is all that matters to him.”

“So, we’re doing this,” Pirate sighed, resignation in his voice.

I met each of their gazes, a silent acknowledgment passing between us.

“This is our shot at ending all of this bullshit, or the shitstorm is going to hit us head on,” Compass declared, his tone firm and resolute. “Let’s just hope it’s the former.”

I rose from my seat, the weight of our decision heavy on my shoulders. “Four o’clock tomorrow, we’ll know which way the wind is blowing,” I stated, my voice tinged with determination. It was a gamble, but it was one we had to take if we ever hoped to find peace in the chaos that had consumed our lives.

The heat between Yarder and me was intense as we moved together on the couch, lost in the ecstasy of our passion. I straddled him, my body slick with sweat, my breasts bouncing with each movement, driving both of us to the brink of climax.

“Ride me, babe. Fucking take it,” Yarder growled, his voice thick with need. His dick was deep inside me, pulsing with desire as he thrust in and out.
