“What’s that got to do with anything? I don’t keep score. Besides, you’re my woman.”

My face flushes, the warmth spreading down to my chest and filling my heart with joy. Hearing this feels even better than the last time, when he claimed me at the family dinner in the heat of the moment.

“Say that again,” I murmur.

His eyes shine in the semi-darkness. “You, Emberly Kay, are my fucking woman and I fucking love you.”

I giggle. “Seriously?”

“I’m never letting you go,” he snarls.

“O-Okay…” When he doesn’t elaborate, I press my forehead against his and sigh in contentment. “And I love you, too.”

Roman pulls me into a hug. “You’re going to sell me that painting.”

“It’s a gift.”

He spanks my ass. “I’m serious.”

“Alright then,” I say with a giggle. “You can have it in exchange for a kiss.”

“Emberly,” he growls.

“Roman,” I growl back.

He pulls away from the hug, looking me dead in the eye. “How about I pay you twenty-five grand and you use the money to take me out on a ridiculously expensive date?”

I huff. “Drop it, Roman. For once, I want to be the one giving you the gift.”

He rolls me onto my back and pins my hands over my head. “Are you sure about that, baby?”

“Yes.” I arch into his chest. “Accept the gift, asshole.”

His eyes darken, and he parts my thighs with his knees. “Your paintings are valuable investments, not gifts. Sign the fucking agreement and accept my money.”

“Make me.”

He flashes his teeth, looking like the sexiest kind of predator. My stomach flip-flops, not knowing whether to be afraid or aroused.

“Hold on to the headboard,” he growls.

As my fingers cling to the cold metal, Roman reaches to the corners of the bed and pulls out some white rope.

“Where did you get those?” I ask.

“They were tucked into the sheets,” he murmurs. “You never know when you have to tie up a brat.”

He binds my wrists together with the rope, which feels like it’s made of hundreds of silk fibers. My nipples tighten at the new sensation, and heat radiates from my core.

After securing the rope to the headboard, he stares down at me with a grin. “Now, will you sign the agreement?”

My lips quirk into a smile. “Never!”

“I hoped you would say that.” He hops off the bed, jostling the mattress.

The fine hairs on the back of my neck stand on end. I raise my head and glare at his retreating back. “Where are you going? Roman?”

“Wait there.” He disappears behind the door.
