“Thanks.” I raised my gaze to meet his.

He was panting, too. Flustered. My tongue flicked across my lips and tempted me to act more on our animalistic desires.

“Just get out of here before I lose the last ounce of self-control I've and disrespect you by bending you over and fucking you against that wall,” he said, his voice rough.

I quickly pulled my dress into place and hurriedly beat it through the door.

My breathing laboured, I searched all over for Veronica. I found her cowering in the corner, crying her eyes out.

“Veronica, what’s wrong?” I enveloped her in a tight embrace.

Her sobs only grew more intense. She shook her head and wiped away her tears, gazing up at me.

“It’s nothing. Let’s just go home,” she said, frantically scanning the club as though searching for someone.

She had never looked so vulnerable before, and I was worried about her.

“Let’s go,” I replied, then headed towards the exit with my friend.

We reached the club entrance, and I glanced back one last time. Spencer Banks stood on the balcony above the dance floor, his stare fixed on me. I gulped hard and dragged myself outside, his gaze lingering even after we’d left.

Chapter Sixteen

Spencer

“Are you sure Laura knows Granny’s address?” Maja asked me for the fourth time today.

Jason, my driver, was taking us to my parents’ house, and London traffic was once again horrendous. I was on edge, in a bad mood. Friday night had been such a mistake, but it was too late to take it all back now. I’d lost control and finger-fucked the nanny near the employee entrance where anyone could’ve walked in on us. I was such a twat.

“Probably, knowing Grandma, she already took Laura’s number and has been bombarding her with messages.” I attempted to pull myself together.

“Sir, we are here.” The driver lured me out of my thoughts.

Maja squealed.

“Daddy, come on. Laura is probably waiting for us inside.” She dragged me away from the car.

My parents lived on the outskirts of London in a pretty good neighbourhood. My father was a retired politician. Two of my security guards who’d followed us in a separate car were parked behind us to discreetly watch the house. It seemed that Andrew was already there, because his own security agents were around, trying hard to melt into the surroundings.

My mother was standing in the doorway of her three-story Edwardian home, waving at us. This place brought back a lot of memories, some good and some bad, but I’d enjoyed growing up in this house. Maja ran to my mother and gave her a big hug, and then I followed them inside. I nodded to Jason, my main security agent, who was welcomed into the house.

“And how are you, Spencer? Your brothers are here.” Mum gave me a kiss on the cheek.

“Is Laura here yet?” I asked, curious if she was being interrogated by my siblings.

That woman was going to be the death of me. I had been dreaming about her and her delicious pussy since Friday night. I’d texted her a few times during the weekend, asking if she was all right. The one-word replies told me she wasn’t ready to talk to me about what had happened. She was my nanny, and I would not be with her, no matter how much I wanted to.

My father stood in the kitchen, cooking, and my brothers were gathered in the garden where Maja started playing with Rupert.

“What’s for dinner, Dad?” I patted him on the back.

Since my father had retired from politics, he enjoyed pottering around the kitchen.

Nine years ago, when Maja was born, I’d moved back to the family home so they could help me out. I had a job at the time that I couldn’t afford to lose. I was grateful to have such supportive parents.

“You know, same old. Roast beef. I heard your pretty nanny is coming over, and Mum is going to match her with Rupert,” Dad said with a gleam in his eye.

“Rupert needs to focus on finding his own girlfriend. Laura is too good for him, and I want her to stay, so that can’t happen.” I wanted to add ‘over my dead body’, but my dad didn’t need to know I wanted her for myself.
