Currently, his three alpha lovers sat together on his living room couch, shoulder to shoulder. All they cared about was Elias, ignoring everything and everyone else. Three pairs of eyes staring at him made him want to squirm, but he resisted.

"I live here, so no sweat," Ian joked, auburn brow quivering.

Elias pressed his lips together, unable to muster a smile. August was right in that he couldn't even handle one alpha, so three was out of the question, right? He had to choose and convince said choice to use tranquilizers. What a mess.

"So I've been thinking," he started, chewing his lower lip and shaking out his hands for courage. "It's not fair to be with all of you, right? And that means I should choose, but I don't know you well enough to do so just yet. I was hoping you'd be willing to spend my next heat with me, together? You know, so we can test who's able to withstand them…"

Elias's speech faltered as he became less sure of himself. The silence that followed was so loud he thought he might've gone deaf. The alphas exchanged a glance between one another, looked at him, followed by another look at each other. Ian's expressive face was blank save for a few creases in his brow, betraying annoyance or worry, making it impossible to read the situation.

He wrapped his hands up in the hem of the large college sweatshirt he put on earlier for emotional support. It was Ian's, of course, but the sweatpants he wore were most definitely his, despite them pooling at his ankles.

Ian, who sat in the middle of them, received two elbow jabs, which forced him to speak with a wince. "We'd love to spend a heat with you. We already, uh, came to terms with this."

Elias narrowed his eyes, gesturing between them. "What is this?"

They exchanged loaded glances again, and Elias didn't like it. Ian continued speaking for all of them, pissing him off even more.

"The four of us, together, as a partnership…or polyship? I don't know what to call it. Either way, we're fine with it, really. You have the libido for it—"

Elias held up his hand, stopping him mid-sentence before it could grow anymore embarrassing. His face blazed as he pinched the bridge of his nose between two fingers.

I have the libido for it, really?

"You're basing this decision on my libido? What about monogamy? Emotional connection?"

They synchronized their movements, forming a circle around him. Elias found solace in their pheromones as they enveloped him, calming his frayed nerves. All the while, he held up both hands at his sides, keeping two of the three alphas at bay. He's too smart to be tricked like that.

"Someone can love more than one person at a time, and while monogamy is prevalent in our society, there are omega-alpha trios or even foursomes," Levi explained, his deep voice even more soothing than the pheromones. "I know a pack that lives in West Sagefield, if you want to visit."

A pack?

"I've never heard of a pack before."

His dark eyes shining, the alpha stood in front of him and smiled. "Because it's rare. I've done some research and you're not alone in having your condition. Other omegas struggle with it as well and found having more than one set of alpha pheromones to calm them down made their heat less excruciating for all involved."

Elias furrowed his brow. He'd done plenty of research on his condition and found nothing of the sort. "Where did you get this information?"

"Rather than looking at the medical research on the subject, I delved deeper. I spoke with other omegas inflicted with the same disease as you. They gave me plenty of real-world examples and consequences."

"Consequences?"

Elias' anxiety spiked as he thought of what they could be. It would ultimately be his fault.

His.

Ian gripped the hand pressed to his chest, running one thumb over it in soothing circles. Dane did the same, sandwiching Elias between them. His elbows buckled, shrinking the gap between their warm bodies and his.

"Not to us," Levi continued, tipping Elias' chin up with two fingers. "To you. If you don't receive the pheromones you need, you become weak or, sometimes, even ill. I think falling into a fever every time you're in the rain without an umbrella or coat has more to do with that than anything else."

Elias wanted to step back at the barrage of new discoveries. His head was spinning, but his…pack kept him grounded. The fingers hooked in their shirts spasmed, gripping even harder and yanking them in close enough to scent his neck. They didn't hesitate, rubbing against Elias' bare skin. Dane stopped at his gland on the left side below his ear, licking it once, twice, before turning to rub their necks together, saturating him in their combined musk. He moaned, arching into Levi's chest.

"I—" his breath caught in his throat, making Elias stumble over his words. "I'm not weak?"

Levi shook his head. "No, you're not. You're the strongest person I know for going six years with the bare minimum. Ian is the only reason you're not seriously ill right now."

Elias turned, and the others let him fall into the Ian's chest. He fixed his hair and said calming words that Elias couldn't hear over the ringing in his ears.

He almost couldn't believe it.
