He set the glass down rather than pour another as he wanted to do. It would ease his tense energy, but wouldn't be good for later.

"And you've been happy managing your relationships within the pack?" he asked.

Anna tilted her head from side to side. "I'd say any relationship is only as good as the work and love put into it. Be authentic in your efforts and remind each other of the reasons you're together daily. There's nothing more important than one another, right?"

Elias blinked. "Yeah, you're right."

His arms reached back on their own, grasping for his alphas. They pulled him closer, pressing their chests into his back and wrapping their arms around his waist. It soothed him and made him less alone despite everyone around him. He was already familiar with all the information she shared, except for their personal story.

Hell, it really was his own fear holding him back the entire time. That shouldn't have been a surprise, but it left him ashamed of his own shortcomings.

"Thank you for taking the time to speak with us."

Anna nodded. "Now, eat some of these sandwiches Kell made before you head out. They have his famous fried chicken on them!"

He dragged his pack mates up to the other side of the U-shaped couch and sat down, handing out plates. They poured more drinks, and Elias reluctantly agreed to have just one more.

Wasn't life meant to be enjoyed?

Maybe he could let himself do so.

Chapter Nineteen

They left long before Elias could get drunk, thank the Goddess, and the rental wasn't very far from the farm. It was a small four-bedroom home the color of a robin's eggs with white shutters. Around the front stairs were two huge pink hydrangea bushes. He tried to grab his bag, but Ian refused to let him carry anything. Even Dane took up the bundle of nesting blankets rather than let Elias cart them inside.

He sighed and followed behind his alphas into the house. There was sweat along his forehead, and the desire that'd been simmering for a while turned up a notch, burning steadily and refusing to let him think about anything else. The deep ache would come next, and then his scent would grow out of control.

This morning was his last round of suppressants, and they were already wearing off. The urge to take more was knee jerk, but he didn't even have any. It was the only way he could get himself to let go. At least until his jumbled up mind settled on the idea that he had a pack and they weren't going anywhere no matter what happened.

The inside was just as charming as the outside—full of custom paintings of attractions in the surrounding area. A waterfall splashing into lily pads, the view from the top of a hill overlooking the city below, and even a dark rendition of the stars.

Elias took each one in as he walked across the chipped hardwood floors and ran fingers along the furniture. It was in soft colors like gray or cream, with huge cushions that were no doubt comfortable. The living room even had a fireplace if one were to stay here during the winter. He had the brief thought that coming back wouldn't be so bad.

"It's nice, right?" Levi asked, wrapping his arm around Elias' shoulders.

He nodded, leaning his head against his alpha's chest. "Yeah, I like the artwork."

Levi directed his attention to the bluff that overlooked the city. "This is where we'll end up after hiking. This painting doesn't do it justice. I promise the view will blow your mind."

"I can't wait," he said. "But first…make me yours."

As he said that, Elias turned to run his hands up the length of Levi's chest, skin tightening. He was panting with every breath now and knew he looked wrecked with flushed cheeks and glassy eyes. His heat was here, and he could detect the telltale cherry blossom fragrance of his pheromones.

Levi's pupils blew open wide. His alpha lifted him until they could press their foreheads together, closing his dark eyes with an inaudible sigh. Elias wrapped his arms loosely around Levi's neck, tangling his fingers in his soft hair.

"While you're still here mentally, I'll ask one more time," Levi said. "Do you want to mate with us?"

Elias nodded without hesitation, then followed it up with, "Do you want this? Want me?"

Levi smiled, kissing him softly. "I've yearned for this since the first moment I saw you arguing with your boss. Your brow was furrowed, and a pout played on your lips as these gorgeous curls fell into your eyes. It was too much for my heart to handle."

"I've been thinking the same thing for the past twenty years," Ian added, stepping through the doorway with his hands in his pockets.

Elias kissed Levi once more, deepening it and succumbing to the intense experience of their tongues intertwined. His heart beat at a mile a minute, and by the time they came up for air, he was gasping.

"You're eager," Levi whispered. "I like that."

He whined a little, chasing Levi's mouth even as his alpha set him back on his feet to be whirled away. He hit Ian's hard chest with an oomph, mind spinning in slow, dizzying circles. His dick was half-hard, and he could feel himself growing wetter by the second. Their pheromones permeated the house, filling it with wildflowers in a deep wood with bergamot and smoke from a fire.
