I groaned. It was time to get up.I rolled up too and began to dress.“Just… stuff.I was trying to reassure her that we want her, that she’s beautiful. She seems to have a problem believing us.”

Leo sighed and ran a hand through his hair, tugging on the short tufts.“Yeah, I don’t get it.She’s gorgeous.”

“But not a classic thin beauty,” I conceded.“I kinda get why she feels that way, but after last night, I thought the fact that we wanted her would be plain enough.”

“About that…” Leo crossed his arms over his T-shirt.“You didn’t call.I just happened to come here.I hope that doesn’t change anything between us.”

I sighed.“I probably owe you an apology there.I shouldn’t have come to see her without you.I know how you feel about her.But she already likes you, whereas she seemed freaked out by me.So when Mom suggested I come bym I just wanted to spend some time with her.I wasn’t expecting to get her half naked.”

Leo chuckled.“The beauty of the fated mate link, huh?”

I nodded.“Yeah.No hard feelings?”

He grinned.“Course not. We’re sharing a mate for the rest of our lives… we can’t fight over petty shit.”

Tania marched back into the room, her face hard.“Well, you don’t know if you’ll be sharing me for the rest of your lives.I haven’t agreed to anything yet.”

I grabbed her and pulled her against me, then kissed her even though she looked pissed off.“Can’t blame a wolf for hoping.”

She rolled her eyes, but the light came back into her face.

Then she pushed out of my arms, whacking me on the chest on her way out.“Come eat.I made food.”

And boy, had she. When we walked into the small living area the table was loaded with bacon and eggs, toast and fruit, sausages and tomatoes.

“Whoa.This is amazing.”

She shrugged.“This is what my dad would eat for breakfast, so I figured you guys would like the same.”

Leo sat straight away.“Your dad’s a rock star.”

Tania sat beside him, a soft smile on her face.“Yeah.He’s a good guy. He’ll be by later if you guys wanna train with him again.”

I sat opposite the other two and began serving myself the bacon and eggs.“We’ve got a huge day at the property. We’re pretty behind because of the hand-holding we’ve had to do with Mom and Dad, but we could try.”

Tania poured some orange juice for all three of us, then took a sip.“How are they settling back into the community?”

“Better than expected, actually,” I answered, reaching for a banana.

We chatted and ate like we’d been together for years, then we both kissed Tania goodbye and ran out the door.

It was past seven now, so most of the trades would have started work.

“Well, that was the best breakfast I’ve ever had,” Leo said with a moan and a rub of his belly as we walked outside.

“Hell, yes it was.”I glanced up at the large gym sign hanging over my head.“And the best part is, it’s only the beginning.”

We jumped into our trucks and sped off to work. The guys were in full swing by the time we got to the work site.

Jimmy, our sparky, grinned as we pulled up and jumped out of our vehicles.“You two haven’t been late a day I’ve known you.Who are they?”

I locked my truck and slid my cell phone into my pocket.“They?Who?”

“The women you’re seeing. Two different trucks.Late.It can only be one thing.”

I glanced at Leo, who shrugged.I took that to mean it was my choice if I told him.

Jimmy was a shifter too, married with three kids.It was smart to let him know we were off the market. He’d let the pack know and would stop anyone else going for Tania, too.
