The welcome music rolled through the speakers, and everyone got into position.

“Welcome back. We are still here with Sunny Nash and Rhett Myers.” Juliana spoke into the camera, then turned her attention to her celebrity guests. “You starred together in the upcoming romantic comedyAll Aboard.”

They smiled at each other, nodding.

“So, Rhett, tell me about playing a train conductor.”

He gave Juliana his winning smile, the same one he gave me earlier. It felt a little cheap now. “It was new for me. I really liked trains as a kid, so part of me geeked out a little when I got to be the driver.”

“But you were motion sick, Sunny, is that correct?”

She nestled a little further into Rhett’s side, and I wanted to yank her away. What color was my aura now, Sunny? Probably red.

“The sets had to roll sometimes to simulate the train, and we couldn’t change that. It wasn’t fun balancing illness with trying to work, but we got through it.” She looked up at Rhett, and clear affection shone in her eyes.

Juliana consulted her card and looked up at the camera. “I’m sure you’re all eager to see these two light up the screen inAll Aboard, so be sure to get your tickets to watch it in a theater near you on June 21. Now, while I’ve got you here, I have a special surprise.”

The lights changed a little, the spotlight focused more on Rhett.

Juliana looked like a cat with her cream, her Cheshire smile stretching wide. “I have it on good authority that Rhett has an exclusive announcement to make.”

The tour. It had to be.

He grinned. “I do, Juliana.”

“I have to say,” she teased, “this has been a hard thing to keep my lips sealed about.”

Adalyn scoffed next to me. “She’s known for less than an hour.”

I couldn’t help but smile at that.

He shot Juliana a playful smirk. “I’m not sure I’m ready to make this announcement.”

“Rhett, you can’t possibly be worried.”

“No, not worried,” he countered, but his eyes flashed to the camera, and that was exactly how he looked for about a millisecond before he covered it up again. What kind of campaign was this?

Sunny reached for his leg and gave it a squeeze. Now my aura was mostdefinitelyred.

It seemed to do the trick, though. Rhett squared his shoulders the slightest bit, as if he were preparing for battle. “We’re launching a charity campaign next week, and we’ll visit ten cities in four weeks.”

“But that’s not the best part,” Juliana cut in.

It looked like Rhett disagreed. His smile was plastered to his perfect mouth, but his eyes were dull. “In each city I am auctioning off a date—”

The live audience erupted in screams, and my heart stalled. A date. Like...romantically?

“—where I take the winning lady out in style, and 100 percent of the proceeds will go to charity.”

“It’s not only one charity, is it?” Juliana cut in.

“We want to make the biggest impact possible, so each date will benefit a different recipient.”

“You heard it here first, folks. Go check out Rhett’s newDate a Starwebsite for how to qualify as a bidding party and to find the list of dates and cities available.”

Dates. Rhett was auctioning off tendates, for a major charity effort and no doubt for publicity of some sort, and I was going along to do his hair and makeup. I got to watch Rhett date ten other women. Somehow this seemed a lot less enticing than it had when he initially asked me along.

Did he even need a makeup person for a bunch of dates?
