She let her legs drop, and she hung like a limp noodle for a long second before I pried her up off the table.
Her hair was wild when she got upright, and I couldn’t help the small chuckle that left my lips at her appearance.

“Ready,” she announced.
I caught her hand and led her through the maze of hallways to the inner sanctum.
“Fuckin’ finally!” I heard someone call.
I looked up and found Zip on the trapeze above the stage.
“I’d like you all to know that you’ve all made me wait way too long, way too many times. And now it’s my turn. Just take the time to reflect on how you should’ve acted all these years if it ever happens again,” I grumbled.
“Keene,” Ande hissed.
I looked down and over at her, seeing her cheeks once again fully flushed.
I’d embarrassed her.
“I’ve had to wait so many times I can’t even count,” I told her. “It’s my turn.”
Her eyes widened. “I have to make that phone call.”
I winked at her. “Then do it now, baby. Because the music is about to be overly loud.”
She went off to the farthest corner of the room, and I could see her talking to someone.
Just the thought of having her bare whenever I wanted… yeah, that was exciting.
Way too exciting for me to be thinking about with all of my siblings in attendance.
“Let’s get this going,” I said as I caught up the headset that would allow me to speak, and my voice to be amplified for the entire room to hear. “Start from the beginning.”
Together, we worked through the entire show.
