Before she got lost in him, she pulled back and said, “Oh, by the way, since it’s official, there’s something we need to talk about.”
“What’s that?” He nipped her neck and she jolted under him.
“Have I mentioned I have a huge storage unit full of stuff?”
He raised his head and cocked a brow. “No.”
She pulled him down and whispered against his lips, “So I’m going to need to take a look at those house plans.”
He laughed, snaking his hand under the clasp of her bra. “Oh really?”
She blinked up at him all wide-eyed and innocent. “It’s not too late to make changes, is it?”
He shook his head. “Anything for you, darlin’.”
She grinned. “I promise you’ll get a tiny sliver of the closet.”
He laughed. “You are such a brat.”
“But you love me, right?”
“More than life itself.”
“Me too.” She reached up, touched his jaw, and said with everything in her heart, “I fell head over heels for you, and you’re the best thing that ever happened to me.”
“Right back at you.” He kissed her and she sank into him, letting herself drown in the feel of him. Letting it sink in, wrap around her, and make her heart beat fast.
She was home.
