I flashed them tight smile, then shut the door in their faces.

ChapterTwo

After tying the robe firmly around my waist, I emerged from the bathroom.Nick was gone, but Dylan was still standing sentinel. No longer being naked filled me with a sense of control. At least until Dylan gently slid an arm around my waist before leading me back to bed.The heat of his hand cinching my hip bled through the silky fabric, sending a quiver skipping through me.

As we rounded the mattress, Nick reappeared at the doorway with a mug of hot tea and ordered me back into bed.Without arguing, I climbed under the covers and sipped the steaming liquid beneath their watchful gaze. The way they pampered me was endearing, but a bit overwhelming.

“We’re going to head out to the other room so you can rest,” Dylan announced as they both stood and turned for the door.

I felt a little guilty for the wave of relief that washed over me.

“Hey guys?”I called out.“I just want to say thank you both for… everything.”

Their matching broad smiles warmed my heart.

“We’ll let you shower us with appreciation later.”Dylan winked with a devilish grin before closing the door behind them.

My heart drummed in my chest.Surely, he wasn’t talking about showering them sexually, was he?

Oh, you wish.

“Right,” I whispered. They were far too suave and urbane for a plain Jane like me.They had swagger, and lots of it.I had GPS coordinates and typographical maps.

But they don’t know that about you, unless you tell them.

“If they did, they’d turn tail and run,” I mumbled.

And why was I thinking such ludicrous thoughts in the first place? They weren’t interested in having sex with me.This was just some kind of game they obviously liked to play. They weren’t going to follow through with their sexual asides, were they?Doubts volleyed through my mind like tennis balls at Wimbledon. And trying to analyze them was impossible, not to mention, pointless.

I tried to sleep but couldn’t.Restless and bored, I slowly stood and walked to the window, then pulled back the curtain.Snow fell from the sky in a swirling, violent rage, and covered the ground in a thick white blanket.

“Mellie can’t drive through this shit,” I whispered despondently.

While I was relieved she was safe and sound in Oklahoma, I had no clue what I was going to do the entire week without her.Saturated in sadness, I sat on the edge of the bed and watched the snow continue piling up outside.

A wide hand clasped my shoulder.Jolting with alarm, I snapped my head around and looked up at Dylan.

“Sorry, kitten.I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said, trailing his hand up and down my arm.

Though there was nothing remotely sexual about his touch, my hormones pinged as if it were a precursor to foreplay.

“It’s okay.I didn’t hear you come in,” I replied as the scent of savory herbs filled my nose.

Dylan tucked a strand of hair behind my ear while holding me prisoner with a potent stare.Lost in his shimmering, ocean-blue eyes, I wanted to stay drowning in them forever.

“I guess I should have knocked,” he somberly murmured, skimming a knuckle down my cheek.“Damn, Savannah, do you have any idea how fucking beautiful you are?”

No.

Though the words spilling off his tongue made me feel beautiful, I subtly shook my head.

“Trust me.You are.”He smiled and extended his hand.“Come on.Dinner’s ready.”

“Nick knows how to cook?”I asked, placing my fingers in his palm.

“We both do.”Cupping my elbow, he helped me off the bed, then led me toward the door.“You’re in for a treat. Two of the most amazing chefs on the planet have fixed you dinner.”

“Is that so?”I chuckled.“I guess that means we’re having frozen pizza tonight, right?”
