“What’s wrong? Does it hurt that much?” Her attention snaps to my face and her hands pause on my upper thigh.

“Yeah, but not in the way you’re thinking,” I mumble under my breath.

“What does that mean?” Her forehead crinkles as she stares at me.

“Well, you’re making things a little hard,” I sigh. The last thing I want to do is call her attention to my dick, but if I don’t, she’s going to keep working on my thighs and someone’s going to walk in and see us. I’ll never hear the end of it then.

“What do you-” The words die on her tongue as her eyes widen and bounce from my dick to my face and back again. “Is this…”

“Turning me on? Yes, having the woman of my dreams touch me all over the place turns me on. I'm a weak man, Charlie. What do you expect? It’s been a long time since I’ve had anyone touch me – because it’s only ever been you – and let’s be honest, we never wentthatfar. I guarantee I'm the only man on the team who hasn’t. Hell, I’d be a laughing stock if anyone found out.”

She squeezes her eyes shut and sucks in a deep breath. I don’t know what she wants me to do. It’s not like I can control this.

“You need your thighs massaged. The muscles are so tight I'm afraid you’re going to injure yourself if you don’t loosen them up. If your calves are even close to being this bad, then spring training is going to be rough.”

“They’re probably worse.” I wince.

She glances around before stepping even closer to me. She lowers her voice and makes sure no one can hear us.

“How about I come to your place and give you a massage tonight? Then neither one of us needs to worry about someone walking in.”

“Are you sure you’re comfortable with that?” I sit up again.

“I know you’d never hurt me, Wyatt. That’s never been a worry where you’re concerned. There’s no reason for it to be weird. And hey, maybe if we spend some time alone things can be less awkward.” She shrugs her shoulders. “We’re going to have to learn to work together and without there being tension between us. This is probably the best way.”

“Ok. I’ll text you my address and you can come any time.”

“Sounds good. I’m going to find Leo so I can work on him and get out of here.”

Chapter 13

Charlie

“Thanks, Charlie. I feel a lot better.” Leo stretches his arm above his head and grins.

“You’re welcome. I’m glad I can help. You should ice it tonight. You need to keep your shoulder strong throughout spring training. I don’t want to see you get an injury.” I pat him on the shoulder as I begin cleaning up so I can go home.

I want to shower and get changed before I head over to Wyatt’s house. I have no clue how long I'm going to be there and I don’t want to shower late tonight, knowing I have to be here early in the morning.

“What are you up to tonight? I think Cord and I are heading out for dinner. Do you want to come?”

“And show up in the tabloids as your new girlfriend?” I smirk. “No thanks. I think Emma would murder me.”

Leo chuckles, but he doesn’t say anything about Emma. I swear there’s something going on there, but whenever I bring Emma up,Leo gets quiet and changes the topic. Emma does the same when Leo is mentioned.

“C’mon, Charlie. We’ve been friends for so long and I haven’t seen you in forever. I want to catch up and I know Cord does too.”

“I already have plans tonight.” I nibble on my bottom lip and continue to clean up, anything to prevent me from looking at Leo. He can read me almost as easily as Wyatt can.

“That’s funny because Wyatt already had plans tonight too.” I know he’s smirking, even without looking at him.

“Huh? Who knew more than one person could be busy on the same night?”

My phone pings with a text and before I can grab it, Leo snatches my phone off the table and holds it out of my reach.

“Leo! Give me my phone!”

“Only after you tell me why Wyatt’s sending you the code to the gate at his house.” He smirks down at me, chuckling when I jump and still can't reach his hand stretched above his head. If I hadn’t worked on his shoulder, he probably wouldn’t be able to get his arm that high.
