“I wouldn’t dream of having it any other way. We are a team, songbird, and I’ll always be there for you no matter what.”

“I’m not sure we’re ready for another baby. She just started sleeping through the night.” I haven’t even thought about having another baby. But now that it is coming, I can’t imagine not having this blessing.

“Just so we are clear, as soon as I stop breastfeeding, every night feeding will be yours. No matter if it’s a boy or a girl. Promise?”

“I promise.” His lips press against mine, taking me under his magical spell once again.

The limo stops and we exit and head inside the venue.

We are here for a concert tonight, but for the first time in years, Apollo is here to watch, not perform.

And I couldn’t be happier to have him by my side.

We are greeted at the door by a man who asks us to follow him, and I look at Apollo.

He just smiles at me, holds my hand, and says, “Lead the way.”

The hallways after a while are deserted until we enter a room with only a few people inside. There is a balcony there.

Oh, my God, this is a private viewing suite. What are we doing here?

Ares waves at us from inside where he is talking with a couple of men.

I smile and wave back as one of the men approaches us and extends a hand to my husband. “Welcome, Apollo. Thank you so much for joining us.”

“Thank you for having us. This is my wife, Lucy.” His hand is on my lower back.

The man extends his hand to me. “Delighted. I’m Hank.”

I take his hand and shake it. “Delighted.” He is about our age and looks genuinely happy.

Apollo says, “Lucy, this is the band’s manager. He says he has a surprise for us.”

“Come on, it’s starting.” One of the other men in suits waves us over, and we head to the empty seats to enjoy the show from up here on this balcony.

My husband couldn’t let go of the show business, but he is much happier on the other side of things. The lawsuit against the label is now over, and I think they learned their lesson.

It was worth a couple of weeks with the news vans and paparazzi waiting for us at court.

And now we are back out of the spotlight with the knowledge they won’t hurt anyone ever again.

Apollo and Ares are closer than ever. Still writing songs. Both together and by themselves. And with the compensation we were awarded, they created their own label.

A label that could be for upcoming artists what they wished their old label had been for them. Support, leverage, a family.

As we reach the balcony and look out at the stage, the band starts playing, and Apollo’s eyes widen as tears gather in his eyes.

One second later, I understand why.

I put my hand on his arm. “This is your song. The one you wrote for Aurora, isn’t it?”

He just nods, eyes glued to the stage.

I let him have this moment, take it all in.

As the song ends, I turn to him. “I love you, babe.” I hug him tight.

“I love you too, my muse. Thank you for being my rock.”
