“You are so not regular guys,” Karelis commented, a faint blush rising on her cheeks.

“Yeah, you three need to get all those pheromones out of my room. I love you, Karelis, but let’s get this show on the road.” June picked up the box and carried it across the hall to our suite.

“How come she gets to carry things with no one growling?” Karelis still had her hands on her hips, and it took everything in me not to close the door behind June and taste that sassy mouth of my mate’s.

“Because she’s not our mate. That’s why,” I answered. “But she’s right. Let’s go, one by one. That way, if someone gets caught, then we don’t all go down.”

What should’ve been a one-hour job, tops, since our mate didn’t have very many things, ended up taking three hours, including moving Teresa, and it wasn’t until one in the morning when we got done.

We all stood in June’s room and breathed a sigh of relief. No one had gotten caught. We were in the clear. “What about your roommates, Teresa?” I asked. “Do you think they will tell anyone that you moved? Tell the headmistress?”

Teresa shook her head. “Those girls don’t even know I’m alive. Jameson gave me a special pass to stay in the library until ten at night, so I could spend as little time as possible there. They all know what kind of people they are, but no one does anything.”

I wished we could, but my focus was on Karelis and all of us getting out of here. Of course, it was important for us to go to Urban Academy, but getting our mate into a place where we could better take care of her and where it was less prison-like was the point.

And above anything else, I wanted the best for our mate.

“Well, this should be better, Teresa. June is sassy as hell, but she’s all right in our book.” I put my hand on Karelis’ back, eager to get her back to our suite.

“A half-ass compliment from one of the Three Kings? Oh, my heart!” June put her arm over her forehead.

Karelis hugged June and then Teresa, wishing them well. Blaze and Adan offered their goodbyes, and we snuck back across the hallway and shut the door behind us.

“I’m exhausted, guys.” Karelis sank into our small couch. “But I don’t know where I’m sleeping.”

“My room,” I answered quickly.

“Why your room?” Blaze asked. “Maybe she wants to sleep in my room.”

Karelis rolled her eyes and began fishing around in her one bag. “I’m taking a shower. And just because I’m in Casimir’s bed doesn’t mean you two can’t be there as well. Worked well the other night, didn’t it? Seems a shame to mess with something that works.”

She left us all standing there, stunned.

Last week, she didn’t believe she could have a mate and this week, keeping us at a distance, it was all I could do not to beg her to let me mate her. All of us. Now. Tonight.

We took turns showering and, once we were done, we piled into the bed. Karelis laughed as we got situated.

Once we were comfortable, my eyes began to close. I finally had my mate in my bed and we had made it through the night without getting caught.

All was well.

“What the hell is that?” Blaze said, getting out of the bed.

Fuck me. Lights shone into our window from outside.

Not just any lights, either. Lights we had seen the night Daniel had been so badly hurt. He still hadn’t returned to class, and I’d heard a rumor that he was taking the rest of the semester off to heal.

We could not catch a break.

We all sprang out of bed and plastered ourselves to the window. “It’s the same lights. The purple lights. The same ones,” Karelis whispered, as though the creators of the light could hear us.

Lights.

Light Kingdom.

Lights.

“We have to get out there in case they are hurting someone again,” I said, my warrior voice coming out. Blaze and Adan said I had one, but when Karelis pointed it out, I began to believe it.
