She glared at me, then her features softened. “For the record, yes. I’m greedy, and I want both of you to myself. But it’s also a safety thing.”

I nodded. “Right. Same goes for you.”

She raised an eyebrow. “You’rethe jealous type?”

Yes. Very much.“No, no. I’m just saying—the safety thing.”

“Oh. Right.”

Fuck. Was there someone else?!

She gathered the duvet around her body and drew her knees up to her chest, then held them there. “I’m just… still pretty messed up from my last relationship.”

“Are you…” My heart raced. “Are you still fucking him?”

“What?! No, no, God no.”

My hackles calmed and I remembered to wear my cocky smirk again. Things didn’t bother me.

Sometimes it was so hard to remember that…

With my smirk firmly in place, I stroked Grace’s soft hair. “Okay, just checking. I don’t have a problem bringing Noah into this, but I’ll have an issue with another guy. I mean, I’m a chill guy, but I’m notthatchill.”

Grace nodded. “Understood. I get it, I mean.”

Noah brought his thumb and his finger to his chin and studied Grace carefully. He looked like a marble statue, sitting in the chair like that with just his towel. “Personally, I don’t care if you fuck someone else.”

She cocked her head. “Wait… really?”

“It’s not one of my hangups. I mean, I’d like to watch, but it’s not required.”

I chuckled. “It’s not one of your hangupsnow. But this is one of those things that feels great in theory, and then completely different when it actually happens.”

Grace turned to me, her hazel eyes full of questions. “Speaking from experience?”

I waved my hand. “I’ll tell you another time.”

Noah spoke up. “I’m telling you, I wouldn’t care.”

“Bullshit,” I snapped.

Grace giggled. “Well, you guys won’t have to worry about that. I’m only with… you. Like I said, I’m still messed up from my ex. I’m not interested in anyone else.”

I watched her face carefully.

Something felt off.

I couldn’t put my finger on it, but I knew she was lying.

There was someone else.

“Grace…” I said.

She eyed me.

“I can tell you’re not telling the truth.”

She sighed. “It’s not what you think.”
