Thane slung an arm around Savage’s shoulder as they walked. “Old Savage here took military leave, met me, and dragged me along for the ride, and the rest is history.”

“Dave called to discuss transferring to Erebus,” Savage said, giving Thane an annoyed look and pulled him into the room. Ice followed along with the others into the dining room and took seats around the large oak table. Dave’s staff filled the table with platters of finger foods and more beverages.

“So, Echo split at the airport?” Thane asked, reaching for a danish and eating half before he spoke. “And that was after he promised not to?”

“Yes.” Ice refilled his coffee cup and sipped at the fresh, hot brew.

“I wonder why,” Thane said, waving his pastry in the air. Savage caught Thane’s wrist and brought the sugary bread to his mouth.

“Don’t you dare,” Thane scowled, but it didn’t faze Savage and he ate the thing right out of the other assassin’s hand. “You’re going to pay for that tonight.”

Savage smirked, appearing unconcerned at the threat, and selected some cheese and meat from the charcuterie board.

Dave’s doorman stopped in the doorway. “Sir?”

“Yes?” Dave said.

“A Mr. Real is here.”

“Send him in.”

Real came into the room and everyone looked. Ice knew why. Real was a looker. Plus, he was ripped and reeked of power. After sweeping his gaze over the room, Real settled in the chair between Ice and Stone.

“I wonder if Echo was forced,” Savage said around a bite of food, picking up where Thane had seemed to be going with the questions.

Ice briefly closed his eyes. “I was wondering the same thing. We need to bring in Rogue.”

“I’ll find him and bring him in,” Stone said.

“No.” Wrath cut in, his tone low and hard. “I’ll find Rogue.”

Ice didn’t give a shit who found the fucker as long as he was located and stopped.

Before Echo was hurt or worse, killed.

“I need a minute,” Ice said, shoving up from the table. He walked from the room with nothing in mind but escaping prying eyes.

Grit’s collar jingled as the big dog kept pace with him.

Where the fuck was Echo? He stopped just inside of Dave’s study. When he swayed, he placed a hand on the wall to keep his balance. Inwardly cursing his fucking lightheadedness, his eyes burned and his throat closed.

A firm and comforting hand settled against his back and he sucked in a few quick gulps of air.

“They took him, Dave. They fucking took him.”

“If that’s the case, we will get him back,” Dave murmured low.

Ice doubled over, his face so heated that he thought his head would explode, and Dave wrapped an arm around his waist, holding him up. When he finally managed to stand upright, Ice stared at the far end of the study where the windows displayed the garden and the night outside.

“You tell Rogue and Solomon that I’m coming for them,” he ground the words through the building rage.

“Just take the night to think about it. Then we will plan.” Dave gripped him on the shoulders and booted the door closed with his foot. “I need you to keep what you know quiet for now.”

“Why?” Ice glared.

“Because this is bigger than you can imagine.”

“Meaning?” Ice was so fucking confused. It was clear to him! Find Solomon, shoot him in the head, end of story.
