“One?”

“One.”

“You sound easy.”

Liv slaps my chest and pins me with a mini glower which I quickly erase when I drive forward. “You’re a dickhead.”

“Some men might get the wrong idea.”

“You know what I mean.”

I shake my head and continue working myself in and out of her. “I don’t. Haven’t been on a date in years.”

“Years?” she repeats. “I mean…I can see why.”

I told her and I’m not sorry about it. It’s not a secret anyway. All the guys know at the shop. It’s not like it’s something that labels me as an assclown, and Liv deserves to know.

She might work for me but we’ve gone past that.

“Is that what you want to do?” Liv actually clamps her lips shut when I ask that question. And why the hell wouldn’t she be vulnerable after everything I’ve said? “I already know your answer, sweetheart.”

“No, you don’t,” she quickly answers. “I didn’t say anything.”

“You want me to take you on a good and proper date.”

Her brows cave in. “Who said anything about proper?”

My lips curl into a sinful smirk as I lower my mouth to hers again. “Yeah, I guess that’d be stretching it.”

“Completely.”

“But you’ll never know my answer unless you ask.”

“I’m not asking you anything.”

Stubborn little chick.

“Alright.” I pick up my pace and Liv groans. “I guess taking you for a ride on my bike and fucking you somewhere random is out.”

“Really?”

God, she’s fucking perfect.

And I can’t help but wonder how the hell this is going to go up in flames right in front of my face.

“Anything you want,” I convey. “It’s your birthday-slash-date.”

“Then I want you to tell me that you make time for me because you like seeing me.”

Rolling my eyes, Liv plays hardball and arches her back so I can hit a deeper spot. “Fuck.”

“I’m waiting…”

“You know I want to see you,” I argue through clenched teeth. “I’m not gonna tell you every time.”

“But once would be nice. You know, so my eighteen-year-old ass doesn’t get too over my head.”

I scowl. “You’re not eighteen.”
