“Good.” Cannon lifted her into his arms then turned to put her on the couch. He crawled between her legs, spreading them wide around his shoulders while he bent over her pussy. “My turn.”

Dev disagreed. As he licked her, and Hawk crawled onto the couch beside her, to touch her everywhere he could, it seemed like every turn was hers. As it she turned out, she was the luckiest woman in the world—all because of her protective, perfect cowboys.

Epilogue

One week later

“Don’t be nervous, baby girl. We’ll be right here on either side of you the whole time,” Hawk told Devon as the walked from the truck to Leena’s Diner on Friday night, a week after Thanksgiving.

It was the second busiest day of the week for her old work place, and the perfect time to debut her real identity. The guys had suggested a Chicken-fried Wednesday night, but that had seemed like just a little too much pandemonium. Leena would probably throttle her if she caused a riot on an already chaotic evening.

And just to be safe, Dev had forewarned her ex-boss that the three of them would be in, along with Briar, Jax, Ram and Alice, who was the abandoned fourteen-year-old girl her friends had taken in, thanks to strings Jax had pulled. Knowing the connections he had with the Chicago Bratva, Dev didn’t dare ask about what he’d done this time. She’d just welcomed Alice into their found family with open arms.

“I’m not nervous,” Dev lied, smoothing a hand down her front. She knew she looked different from the last time anyone in town had seen her. Earlier this week, she and Briar had driven into Gillette where Briar had surprised her with a spa day and shopping that had kept them away overnight. The guys hadn’t liked that much, if them showing up to crash the girl trip meant anything.

While there, she’d gotten a mani-pedi and all new makeup. The hair colorist had worked magic to strip out the last of the black from Dev’s short tresses and dye it back to her natural color. It had taken hours, but Devon had almost cried when she’d seen the pretty brown again. Then the stylist had managed to cut her hair into a sassy pixie cut. Dev planned to grow it out, but for now, it already seemed more feminine.

She’d gotten herself a whole new wardrobe, too. She loved her jeans, tees and flannels, and they were certainly most practical while working with the horses, but she’d gotten some dresses, skirts, and shirts cut for women. Adding bright and pastel colors back into her look had been liberating.

Tonight, she wore black, heeled elf boots with a lavender puffer jacket. Underneath was a purple-and-blue plaid miniskirt and a long-sleeved, cropped, dark-purple sweater that hugged her curves and showed peeks of her abdomen when she moved. She’d taken great care to add light makeup, though she didn’t camouflage her freckles as she used to when she was younger. Over the years, she’d kind of come to love them.

All in all, she looked like the Dev they all knew. But not. Not at all.

“Of course, you’re not nervous,” Cannon agreed, though she heard the humor in his voice. “Just remember, when all those horny cowboys see you and the stampede starts, you belong to us.”

She fingered the ring they’d put on her finger after Thanksgiving dinner. “I know. I have my own horny cowboys.”

“You have now idea, sweetness. I wish we were home already.”

She let out a laugh through her nose. “The two times earlier today weren’t enough?”

“Never fucking enough,” Hawk said as they reached the door. “Ready?”

“As ready as I’ll ever be.”

“We’re right here,” Cannon reminded her, but anything else he might have said was lost in the cacophony of the restaurant.

“Dev!” Leena screamed, running to her then crushing her in a hug. Well, if that didn’t alert everyone…

“Hey, Leena.”

“Oh, girl, I’m so glad you’re alright.” Grasping Dev’s shoulders, she stepped back. “Let me have a look at you.”

Silence settled around them as everyone stared right along with the diner owner.

“Holy shit,” someone muttered.

“I knew it!” another voice exclaimed. The declaration was followed by groans and haranguing from those with the guy who said it, then the room slowly returned to its normal controlled chaos.

“I have your table over here,” Leena said. “The rest of your group is already seated.”

They headed over to where their friends and Alice sat. Hugh was there with them, and he stood, shaking her men’s hands and nodding to her. They’d found out after returning, Brandon had attacked Hugh and left him for dead when Hugh had tried to stop him the day of her abduction. Since Brandon had been lugging her unconscious body, he hadn’t made sure he’d killed the man. By chance, Sheriff Middleton had found Hugh while searching for her.

“Thank you for trying to stop him,” she said.

“Just my job.”

She gave a small smile. It was more than that, but she wouldn’t argue with him.
