“Dimitri!” She’s obviously shocked.

Good. I like seeing her wide eyes and parted lips.

“What? You’re a masterpiece, kisa. Here, look.” I position the screen for her to see. She glances at the photo, her already flushed cheeks color crimson, but she doesn’t argue.

“Stay right there.” I tuck my dick away and pocket my phone. Then dart across the hallway to the bathroom, returning with a warm washcloth in hand.

I’m delighted to see that Arianna obeyed. She’s laying back on my desk, completely naked and covered in my cum. She’s such a good girl for me.

With the washcloth, I caress her smooth skin, cleaning her up. She watches my every move, seeming mesmerized. I take my time, loving touching her in any way I can.

“You’re not the man I thought you were,” she says in a quiet voice.

I quirk a brow. “Oh yeah?”

“Yeah. You’re… complicated, unexpected? I’m not sure how to describe you.”

A smirk touches my lips. She has no idea. Our time together hasn’t given her much chance to really get to know me. Not the real me. That’s about to change.

I want to show her all of myself. Even the parts that I keep hidden from the rest of the world. Even my secrets.

CHAPTER 26

Arianna

Today Dimitri’s driving us in one of his sports cars further into the country. We’re headed toward a small town in the mountains. The crisp, autumn air is sharper up here, but the scenery is beautiful. Even so, my gaze keeps sliding back to Dimitri’s handsome face, and dropping to his hand resting on my knee.

He absentmindedly rubs my skin with his thumb, and my stomach flutters. His touch drives me crazy, whether it’s sexual or a simple, small contact like this. I’m still not entirely certain how to think or feel about him.

However, I am willing to admit that Dimitri is alluring in ways I never expected. I could easily become addicted to him, even if just for a little while. Why not play along with this fantasy for however long it lasts? I’m not risking my heart, and the things he does to my body… Those things I crave.

The reality is he’ll grow tired of me at some point. After all, I’m nothing more than a possession to him, a power move, and once he gets everything he wants, he’ll pursue the next woman. I may as well enjoy him while I can.

My stomach twists. The thought of him with another woman doesn’t settle well with me. That same jealousy I experienced at the charity event rises up, making me frown.

“We’re here.” Dimitri’s voice jolts me from my thoughts. He pulls through tall iron gates and parks in front of a stately mansion with a sprawling lawn. The sign above the door reads: Rurik Orphanage. I frown at it in confusion.

“You brought me to an orphanage?” I face Dimitri, who nods and gets out of the car, coming around to my side to open the door. “Why?” I ask as he helps me out.

He pins me with his intense deep green eyes. “Because of what you said in my office about me not being the man you thought I was. And, well, I wanted to show you more of who I am.” He rubs the back of his neck, looking doubtful. “I’m not all fights, and clubs, and guns, you know.”

Without further explanation, he takes my hand and we enter the building. As soon as we step inside, a horde of children come running down the stairs, their expressions bright with excitement.

“Uncle Dima! Uncle Dima!” They scream as they surround him. He drops my hand so he can pick up the little girl that can’t be any more than five years old. She hugs his neck, looking smug at being in his arms.

Dimitri claps several older boys on their backs and pats the heads of the other children. All while I stare in shock and wonder. This is like entering an alternate universe.

What are we doing here, and who is this smiling man in front of me surrounded by happy children?

A matronly woman sweeps into the room, grinning up at Dimitri. “As usual, you’re right on time. The children have been looking forward to your visit all month. If you can untangle yourself from them, we can speak in my office.” She gives me a polite smile, before shooing the kids away. “Go play outside, all of you.”

The five year old tightens her hold on Dimitri. Pouting, she shakes her head. “No.”

“Katerina,” Dimitri croons. “Don’t you want to go play with the other children?”

“No,” she says, her stance firm.

Dimitri’s smiles indulgently. “In that case, I want you to meet someone.” He turns her toward me. “This is Arianna.”
