“Wrong how,” Cat asked. “With an accent?”

“Yes,” Dimitri agreed. “It’s familiar. I’ve heard it rec- Fecking.” He opened his eyes to stare at Felinus. “He was Irish.”

“Figilo di puttana,” the Cat swore, letting go of Dimitri so suddenly that he stumbled forward as Felinus pulled out his phone.

“Why are the Irish going after Issac,” Adrian asked, also pulling out his phone.

“O’Hare was the reason I had to get Issac the other night,” Dimitri gasped at the same time, his head spinning.

“Issac’s father was part of the Irish mob, a Clover, during the war,” Felinus said dialing a number and putting it to his ear. “Snake, start the hunt. I’ll have permission shortly.” He hung up the phone and dialed another one as he continued. “One of the other Clovers murdered him and his wife outside of their apartment fifteen years ago. Issac knows who it was that pulled the trigger. My guess is that whoever it was realizes that the past is coming back around and is trying to make it go away. Nikola-” he started speaking rapidly in Italian on the phone.

Adrian swore and started speaking Russian into his own.

Dimitri slid slowly to the ground, staring at the bullet hole in the corner of the wall not far from where he had been, and wondered how one person could hold that many secrets.
