for me

REMY

There was nothing in the whole wide world as perfect as fucking Jessa in the moonlight.

She lay splayed across the pillows and blankets I’d thrown in the back of the Scout, her skin pale in the full moon’s light. Her pretty lips were parted, her head lolling, still riding down her latest orgasm. Her hair was twisted in my fingers like corn silk, her breath sweet, her body small and delicate beneath mine. Her folded leg was tucked in my side, her knee cupped in my shoulder as I came like hell and thunder into her.

When I was spent, I collapsed, my face buried in her neck. Her arms draped lazily around my neck, lips against my jaw, hands in my hair. My heart banged painfully, flinging itself in her direction as I tried to catch my breath, my hips still rocking. I kissed her neck gratefully, thankful I’d ever found her and luckier than I’d ever been that she’d let me con her into my arms.

I didn’t know how I’d ever let her go. Didn’t know what I was supposed to do when she left. My life didn’t seem to make much sense anymore if she wasn’t in it.

It didn’t make any fucking sense.

Ask me if I cared.

With a sigh, I lifted my head, angling for her lips, taking them slowly. I had to drink her in sips to make it last.

She hummed, her hands cupping my neck, then my jaw. When I broke the kiss, she just smiled up at me in that way she did.

“I’m so glad you stole me away,” she said, her gaze tracing my face.

“Every chance I get.” I kissed her swiftly, then backed off and cleaned us up. The first round, I’d made a mess all over her like she asked, and goddamn. I’d never been into it before, but my God if there wasn’t something about my come all over her that didn’t fuck me up. Maybe it was because she was so pristine. A lady, a good girl, and dirtying her up with the chaos from my cock felt like writing my name on the Mona Lisa.

I couldn’t explain it. I only knew it’d be the last thing I saw before I left this earth—Jessa stretched out in the moonlight with my come spattered across her like a Pollock.

I’d be spoiled forever now that I knew her. There’d be no coming back.

“So, did you just bring me out for a shag?” she asked, pulling on her knit shorts, then the matching spaghetti-strap top with an adorably useless pocket over her breast.

“I want to show you something. Maybe break another rule or two.”

“You’re going to land me in trouble, Remington.”

“That’s the idea,” I said with a wink, nearly dressed.

She laughed, stuffing her feet into her sneakers and tying her hair back. I hopped out of the topless Scout and helped her down, keeping hold of her hand.

“This way,” I said, and she followed.

We walked in the comfortable quiet, the crickets and frogs singing their songs in the summer night. When we stopped at the foot of the water tower, she looked up at it with her brows clicked together.

“Surely we’re not going up there,” she said.

“And why not?”

“Well, I doubt it’s legal.”

I shrugged. “Nobody comes around here but high schoolers anyway, and none of them have gotten busted. Our cops might be bored but they’re not bored enough to jeopardize their deaconship at the church by hauling in the congregation’s kids. You’re not afraid of heights are you?”

“No. Damn, if I said yes would it get me out of it?”

“You tell me.” I took her hand and dragged her toward the ladder. Her eyes were still up, her expression dubious.

“Come on. You first.”

“Why me?”

“So if you fall, I can grab you like in a spy movie.”
