“Yep, she’s asweetie.”

Kinley had set Bella’s bag on thealphas’ porch before she left with her mom, so Bella could take itwith her whether she decided to leave with Kash or come to herplace. She appreciated her foresight, otherwise Bella wouldn’t havehad fresh clothes or any of her toiletries.

He pointed out the pack-ownedbusinesses as they drove through town.

“Everyone hangs out at thebar,” he said, pointing it out as they drove by. She’d been toobusy ogling him to look at it. “Lonestar is run by Karly. There area ton of pack members who work there and the food is amazing.” Theypassed by the gas station and garage that was owned by Alpha Jason, and several more businesses.

He turned into adevelopment.

“I picked this house whenI moved out of my parents’ place a few years ago,” he said. “I’vehad roommates, most recently Gideon who is the alphas’ youngest, but I kicked him out a few weeks ago.”

He parked in front of a brick ranchwith a big tree in the front yard and a wide front porch with tworocking chairs.

“You did?”

“Well, yeah. I decided lastmonth that I was going to spell for my truemate during the Aprilfull moon. I didn’t want to find my truemate and bring her home toa roommate who could honestly be messy at the best oftimes.”

He turned off the truckand got out, coming around to her side, opening her door, andoffering her his hand. She grabbed her backpack and climbed out, keeping hold of his hand as they walked up the sidewalk and intothe house.

“Nickel tour or would youlike something to eat or drink?”

He smiled at her, his eyes bright andhis whole being seeming to radiate happiness. She supposed if she’dcast a spell to bring her truemate to her that she’d be damn happyit worked so fast.

Hell, she was super happy to have himin her life, period.

No matter the spell thatdrew them together, her wolf coming out, the location of theirmeeting or the history between their packs, the only thing thatreally mattered was that they were meant to be together.

“I think…” she said, tapping her chin with her fingertip, “that I’d like the tour first, but I’d like it to start in the bedroom.”

His eyes darkened, the silver-grayturning almost molten silver and the scent of him, all masculineand dark like the woods on the full moon, was deeper now, sweeter.Layered with heat and spice that made her wolf want to purr if shecould.

A low hum emanated fromher chest, her wolfy version of a purr.

“I’d love nothing more,” hesaid. He brought her knuckles to his lips and kissed them, in byfar the most romantic thing she’d ever had a male do to her in herlife.

Well, depending on how things went inthe bedroom, maybe it wouldn’t be the most romanticthing.

“Cheril, I need to know one thing,”he said, giving her hand a squeeze. He lifted her into his arms andshe looped her arms around his neck as she let out a girlishgiggle.

“Anything.”

“Do you want to mark eachother? We don’t have to, if you’d rather wait until you talk toyour family.”

She adored that he asked her. In theheat of the moment, there was no telling what she would do withoutthought.

“I think we should wait, ifyou don’t mind. Whether my family accepts you or not won’t changethat we’re mates, but it will be a tough enough conversationwithout me saying I’m also marked too.”

“I get it,” he said. “It’swhy I wanted to ask first. Because I might just want to bite youwithout thinking when we’re together and I wouldn’t want to dosomething you weren’t comfortable with.”

She tilted her face to his. “You’rereally the very best thing that ever happened to me,Kash.”

“I haven’t even gottenstarted yet.” He wiggled his brows and swooped in for a kiss, theworld dropping away as their lips met and parted, her stomachtwisting as his tongue slipped against hers and made her wolf howlin her head.

Kissing Kash was her favorite thing. For now.

She was very sure that bythe time the sun rose, she’d have plenty of other favorite thingswith her mate.

Holy crap she had a mate. Anhonest-to-goodness mate who hadn’t cared if she could shift or not, then protected her with a sword the whole time she was rompingthrough the woods.
