“I know what you need.”

Chapter Nineteen

HOT AND COLD

Torben

My mate does not stand a chance.

I pinch her pretty pussy lips around the prize of her clit. Her inner walls clamp around me so tight. The smooth heat of her hugs me so perfectly, sucking me in to the hilt.

She cries out for me, writhing in her pleasures that are also mine.

I can do this for hours.

By now, she should realize the mating cuffs transmit sensation, so not only does she feel pleasure from what I give her, but she also feels my pleasure.

Joy. Contentment knowing I have my mate. That I no longer have a stretch of nothing before me.

She will warm my days and nights now, the heat to thaw my cold dead heart.

I want so much to give her everything she can ever want. Anything she can need. I’ve already given her direct access to this room where I can create anything for her.

We have the rest of our lives.

Chapter Twenty

AND SHE LIVED

Valiana

Three months later

I think this is my favorite view. Sitting on the balcony just outside of the master suite that I share with Tor. There’s just something about the quiet after a good day’s work.

Leaning against the railing of the balcony that overlooks the back of the house, I can see the picturesque valley of Avalon Vale from the white-capped peaks of the mountains to the tree line of the forest on the far shore across the lake.

Sunsets are peaceful, but sunrise is my favorite, especially after a long night of being loved by Tor.

The internal renovations have been more or less completed. Now we have started cleaning up the landscaping. It’s been quite an adventure trying to convince Tor on the idea of curb appeal. The land had gone untamed, and I didn’t want to give it a manicured look.

He says that nature should look like nature. However, I argue that cutting back the thorns and brambles to create pathways isn’t the same as paving it all over with concrete.

I say a few walking trails are better than me tripping and rolling into the lake. Tor can at least agree with me on that.

Eventually, he’ll also come around to my idea of a dock and using his engineering skills to fashion self-guided water taxis for our future guests, but one step at a time.

Today, the only battle I care about is one little walkway from the inn to the water’s edge.

Vane and his pack are helping Tor with some of the bigger moves, strategically placing large boulders and displaced rock into natural fencing. The wulvers were nice enough to donate a ton of rock from the local quarry they manage.

I’m not complaining as my view comprises burly wulvers who have divested themselves of their shirts. Not to be outdone, Torben has joined the pack in his full primal form, determined to outwork the wulvers.

I still can’t believe this is my life. From working one hundred hours a week to owning my own business and ogling my mate from my personal balcony.

As if he can read my mind, which he swears he can’t, Torben stops mid-sentence and turns his head toward me.

I give him a little wave. That’s enough for him to walk away from an exasperated Vane. Torben walks a direct path to me, brambles be damned. In one jump, he leaps onto the balcony and lands gracefully before me.
