Yep, I still got it.

I look over the bunch. Most of them look familiar, but I don’t remember them. “So, it appears you all know me, but I have no clue who any of you are,” I announce, giving them the go-ahead to start this pony show.

“Well, no matter what has happened, it appears we need introductions. I’m Leviathan,” the man in the muddy suit says, leading the charge. He’s tall with blond hair and hazel eyes. A couple of dimples pop like deflated balloons when he smiles at me, leaning forward to shake my hand. By the smell of him, he’s a mage, but I don’t know what his affinity is. I’m sure I’ll sniff it out of him soon enough.

“He goes by Levi,” Rez’s shoulders slump as she addresses me. “And you would already know that if—ugh.” She deflates, throwing up her hands and shaking her head at me. “How in the Hell did both of us lose our memory of each other, only for me to gain mine back and yours to be completely gone? This is unacceptable.” She stomps her foot, looking all cute. “Someone’s head needs to roll for this shit!” she growls before her gray eyes swing in my direction once again. “I need you to get your memories back because I can’t lose you again. We’ve been attached at the hip since I was six. You’re the yin to my yang, so let’s find a way to pull your head out of your ass and put it back on your shoulders,” she says, stepping into my bubble and pressing her hand against my chest.

“She’s kinda cute when she’s angry, huh?” I say with a smirk, and a few guys nod while her back is turned to agree. Although as soon as she spins around, they quickly wipe the smug look off their faces.

“I’m Zeke, the blood bag,” the redhead one says, leaning over Rez to shake my hand. As I reach for his hand, I get a whiff of him and cock my head at the smell.

“Are you sure you’re just a blood bag?” I question, quirking an eyebrow. He pulls away without taking my hand and pops a fang to prove he’s a vampire. “Then why do I smell decay and death on you, like a Necromancer?” The entire group freezes and tenses up as they look at each other. “I take it that’s a secret?” I ask, and it’s Rez who answers.

“Lynx, you’ve never been able to smell something like that before. What's changed?” Taking my silence as an answer, she shakes her head, mumbling nevermind before continuing. “Ah yes, Zeke is one. That knowledge just stays within our group, though. People would either try to kill or enslave him if they knew,” Rez mentions, and all I do is shrug. I only have her word to go off of since I can’t remember shit right now. It’s no skin off my back to take their side and go along with their rules for now.

“So, I have something on you guys then, huh?” I joke, rocking back on the balls of my feet, but they give each other nervous looks.

I see they don’t have a sense of humor then. Well, shit.

The guy with black and blue spiky hair walks forward and pulls me into a side hug and slaps my back. His smell is intoxicating, but I can’t really place him. He seems to be a hybrid, but I don’t know well enough to distinguish yet. “Well, Lynx. It’s good to actually meet you as a human, finally. I’m Jacques Pierre, or JP, whichever you prefer. Who knew the cat or rat-looking thing I was cooking for was actually a human? A pretty good-looking one at that.” He winks before stepping back and giving my body another once over.

Did he just flirt with me? Wait… What did he just call me? A cataract? He was cooking for me? How well does this guy know me? What the fuck was that about? I wonder, and I hear a giggle in my head before a beautiful voice follows.

‘Haha. Yeah. I think he did, but that’s normal for him, Lynx. I think he’s a bigger flirt than you. And you’re a Shifter. Your main form was a lynx or a martin.’ I hear Rez’s voice, and in sheer panic, my eyes go wide as I seek her out in the crowd.

When our eyes meet, she has the widest smile on her face for the briefest moment before I slam down the connection I didn’t know we had.

Fuck!

Her smile turns watery as I break eye contact before another guy comes forward to introduce himself as Knox, if I heard him right.

“Ox? Is that what you turn into? That would not surprise me by your size. You’re fucking huge. Like a boulder or a mountain. Maybe you’re the one that broke the floor and caused us to fall in here.”

The Shifter in front of me frowns and tenses up, until Rez pats his arm and calms him. Another spike of jealousy hits me out of nowhere for a moment.

Why would I be jealous of her showing concern for the Shifter? Ugh, why am I being an idiot? You don’t even know these people!

I get the sense he’s not my favorite person, but I don’t remember why, so I make a mental note to find out and push him to the breaking point. I wonder how far I can push before this giant explodes into a million pieces.

The last guy is covered in tattoos with a permanent smirk. By the smell of him, he’s part Fae and part Demon.

“I’m Ryker,” he says and extends his hand.

When we shake hands, a bolt of lust hits me, and the fact I need to adjust myself in my pants solidifies the fact that Ryker is an Incubus.

Well, this just gets better and better.

“Well, I guess I’m Lynx. Now, does anyone know why I’m named that instead of something cool?”

I see Rez bristle as all eyes turn to her.

Well, fuck me. It doesn’t look like I’m winning any points here at all.
