“Will you forgive me and be my feisty mate that tries to put me in my place?”

“Tries?” I scoff and stand up, placing my hands on my hips. Ryker falls back and lands on his ass, looking up at me with a cocky look.

“Yeah,” he smirks as he gets up to face me.

“I’ll have you know I do a damn good job putting you in your place,” I say, poking him in his hard chest. “Of course, I forgive you, but if you don’t watch it, I’ll find another Incubus, or even a Succubus, while I’m down here to replace you. I don’t know if you noticed, but Zissa was just flirting with me,” I say teasingly. Ryker gently lifts my chin with his finger and smiles down at me.

“Yeah, I heard about that, but I won’t let that happen. You know why?” His warm breath feathers against my suddenly dry lips before I shake my head. My tongue darts out to wet my lips, drawing his heated gaze down to them before his green eyes flick back to mine. “Because I would tie you down and fuck you until your pussy starts speaking in tongues and you pass out from pleasure. Only to wake you back up with my mouth and fuck you back to oblivion.”

Holy shit! I hear my fireplace erupt, but I don’t dare take my eyes off of Ryker as he leans in and gently bites my lower lip, only to let it go. “Rez… my sweet temptress… You are mine, and I will never let you leave. Even when you’re mad at me, I will fuck the forgiveness and love out of you,” he says before claiming my lips in a fiery kiss.

A bolt of lust overwhelms me, and I pull him into me to deepen the kiss, but he breaks it off and leans his forehead against mine.

“I would love to show you how much you mean to me and how sorry I am, but we have to go, temptress.”

“Since when did you become the responsible one?” I whine, and he chuckles as he steps back.

He walks backward toward the door with his arms out wide. “I have many hidden secrets. You have yet to unlock them all.”

I’m horny as hell, and yet his eyes are still bright green, not the electric blue that normally shines with power. “What’s up with your eyes? They aren’t blue,” I point out as I walk out into the hall and find Lynx, Zissa, and Zeke.

“Well, that’s because someone already had a fulfilling night.” Ryker chuckles as he slings his arm over my shoulder.

“Yes, I learned that one of my guys talks more than a girl. Imagine my surprise.” I bat my eyelashes, and Lynx bursts out laughing. Ryker just clears his throat and shoots Zeke a glare.

Zeke shrugs, unfazed, and adjusts a few rings I didn’t see on his hands earlier.

“What's with the rings? I didn’t know you wore jewelry,” I ask, feeling lost that I didn’t notice this until now.

“Oh, they’re my weapons,” he tells me.

“Huh? Since when are rings weapons?” I ask, looking around at everyone’s faces to gauge their reaction, and I see I’m not alone.

“Since this,” he says before he flexes his hands and long blades shoot out like fucking Wolverine.

“Holy shit!” I murmur and the hall shakes slightly. “My bad.”

“Since my main weapons are my fangs and speed, Astaroth thought fist weapons would work best for me. Apparently there are different types of them, but I’m trying these out today.” He brings his hands up and rotates them so I can see all the blades, and I must admit they are impressive. With a flex of his hands, the blades disappear.

“Just be careful and don’t stab me to death when you come in for a hug, okay?” I tease.

“Wouldn’t dare.” He laughs and addresses the group, “So, who all plans to go on this trip today?” Zeke asks, bouncing on his feet as he turns and walks backward toward the kitchen.

I swear, if he’s not careful, he’s gonna crash into something. Not long after he turns the corner, I hear a grunt, and Zeke crashes to the ground.

“Fuuuck,” he groans. Ryker runs over to him and helps him up as I take in what he crashed into. Lynx, Zissa, and I chuckle at Bez’s bewildered look, until he squints in our direction. Pursing my lips, I stare at the wall and act like I didn’t see anything.

“Do you have everything?” Bez’s deep timbre rings out as he takes in our group.

“Yep, just needed to get the stragglers,” Zissa smiles up at him. He grunts in response and continues past us.

“If we’re the stragglers, does that mean everyone is coming?” I ask since she didn’t answer Zeke’s question before he bounced off a Bez wall.

“Yep, everyone except Knots. Lilith is up and has advised him to save his energy,” she fills me in. My poor Door Knight must be devastated. First, stuck as a door, then bound to the dorm, only to be pulled into Hell, and he can’t explore? Sheesh. I wonder how he’s going to take that?

I don’t have to wait long because I can hear his voice from the hallway before we even get to the kitchen.

“NO! I don’t care who you think you are; you’re not keeping me here while they go out there and risk their lives without me,” Knots growls out. We’re too far away to hear the other side of the argument, but I start to speed walk anyway.
