Page 18 of Vows of Love

“Abso-fucking-lutely,” I muttered, crashing my mouth against hers for a passionate kiss that left us both breathless and dizzy with desire. “I love you, baby.”

Her smile was radiant and full of joy. “I love you, too. So much.”

“You better because I’m never letting you go.” I slipped my hand between us to cup her belly. “I want my ring on your finger and your belly swollen with my baby, sooner rather than later.”

Any lingering doubt I’d seen in her eyes was wiped away. I’d already spent last night convincing her we were much more than a vacation fling. Between all the mind-blowing orgasms I gave her while refusing to wear a condom because I was determined to knock her up and the fact that I’d reached out to Jonah to try to track her down, she was well aware that I planned to be with her forever.

But saying those three little words and hearing her repeat them made an already incredible night even better. “I want that, too,” she whispered.

It was a good thing, I thought. Because we were headed to Vegas the second Gabe and Avery left the reception. By morning, Brielle would have a ring on her finger, my last name, and hopefully—if she wasn’t already—she’d be cooking our baby in her sexy belly.

We were so absorbed in each other that we didn’t notice Avery had come up behind her until she tapped Brielle on the shoulder and said, “You’re off the hook.”

Brielle’s brows drew together. “Pardon?”

Avery grinned at her. “Your promise has been fulfilled. Gabe and I are saying our goodbyes so we can head up to the honeymoon suite. You don’t need to stick around anymore. Go upstairs with your Prince Charming and enjoy your own fairy-tale ending.”

Thank fuck.I hadn’t been sure how much longer I could hold out.

“Perfect timing.” Brielle threw her arms around her best friend for a quick hug. “Congratulations.”

“You, too.” Avery beamed her a soft smile before pointing her finger at me. “You better take good care of her, or else you’ll have to answer to me.”

“You have nothing to worry about in that regard,” I assured her, sliding my arm around Brielle’s back to pull her against my side. “I will always do whatever it takes to make Brielle happy.”

She leaned into me with a dreamy sigh as Avery left us to walk over to her parents. But before she could get too comfortable, I tugged her toward the hotel.

When I led her through the back door and headed in the opposite direction of the elevator that would take us up to my room, she asked, “Where are we going?”

I glanced at her with a determined expression as I declared, “I’m not waiting to make you mine.”

“I’m pretty sure you already did that.” She gave a delicate shudder, and I smirked, knowing she was likely running through the memories of how I’d done it. “Quite thoroughly.”

I stroked my thumb over her ring finger like I’d done that first day when we met. “I have my plane ready. We’re going to Vegas.”

Brielle’s jaw dropped, and she sputtered, “Vegas? Now?”

I jerked my head up and down once. “Need to give you my last name, Brielle,” I muttered. “Right now.”

I knew she’d think dragging her across the country to get married was a total caveman move…but I also knew she loved my inner Neanderthal. My sense of urgency was a sign of how much I loved her. How much I needed her. I wanted her to know that I felt the same devotion and love for her that her dad felt for her mom.

“Yes, let’s do it!” she squealed happily.

Rolling my eyes, I drawled, “I wasn’t actually asking, baby.” I guided her out the door to the car waiting for us and flashed her a smile of pure male satisfaction. “But I’m glad you’re on board with the plan.”

“Maybe I should’ve kept my agreement to myself.” She giggled and shook her head. “Then you would have needed to toss me over your shoulder to get me on the plane.”

I palmed her ass as I helped her into the back seat of the car, giving her cheek a little squeeze before I climbed in after her. “Don’t worry, baby. I’ll toss you over my shoulder and carry you up to our room after we’re pronounced man and wife.”

LENNOX

The Lennox Hotel and Casino was one of the most expensive and luxurious on the strip. It was my first choice anytime I had to be in Las Vegas, and on one of my first trips, Drew and his wife, Autumn, were in the lobby when I checked in. Autumn had thought it was hysterical when she overheard my name, but Drew recognized it and they’d struck up a conversation with me. Over the years, we’d become good friends, which worked out very well for me when I needed a favor.

“You don’t find it at all ironic that we are staying in theLennoxhotel?” Brie asked with a chortle as we entered the lobby.

“Of course, I do, baby. But the funny wore off after the first few years.”
