Finley's breath hitches in her throat. I quicken my pace, thrusting harder, faster, determined to send her over the edge with me. The room is filled with the sounds of our bodies colliding, creating a symphony of pleasure.

I grip her hips tightly as I thrust into her with wild abandon, taking exactly what I want from her without hesitation.

Her walls tighten around me as our cries of ecstasy bounce off the walls.

The sound of her moaning, dripping from her lips, is an instant game-changer. It sets off a primal craving, making me want to go even harder.

Finley's cries fill the air, and then it happens. With a cry that's part agony, part ecstasy, she comes, her walls contracting tightly around me.

With one final powerful thrust, I claim her body, savoring the exquisite tightness that envelopes me. “You belong to me.”

I follow her over the edge, letting out a roar of release as I fill her with my seed. We've both reached our peak. Our connection is complete.

The aftermath is a blur of heavy breathing and tangled limbs. As I come down from my high, it hits me. We've crossed a line, but there's no going back.

I have no desire to turn back. Not when our passion leaves us satisfied and aching for more.

This is how things are, and I have no regrets. She's mine, and I will do whatever it takes to keep her.

Breathless and spent, Finley's eyelids flutter. “Wow. That was wild. I need a minute to catch my breath.”

I press a gentle kiss on her forehead and wrap my arms around her.

“Take all the time you need. I'll give you a lifetime if that's what you want.”

Chapter 8

Finley

Istretch languorously, a grin forming on my lips as memories of last night rush into my mind.

Waking up in Jake’s bed after the incredible night we shared feels surreal. Part of me wants to pinch myself to make sure this isn't a dream.

But the delightful soreness in my muscles and the heat that spreads across my cheeks at the memories assure me it's wonderfully real.

The sheets are rumpled, and the pillow beside me still bears the imprint of his head.

I roll onto my side and hug his pillow, grinning like a schoolgirl with a crush. I breathe in deeply, savoring his lingering musk.

Last night was incredible. The way Jake touched me, how he looked at me with those smoldering blue eyes, and how our bodies moved together in perfect sync was beyond anything I could have imagined.

As I bask in the afterglow, a flicker of doubt creeps in. We discussed his relationship with his ex-wife Natalie, and their divorce is pending.

Jake assures me he’s moving on with his life, but part of me wonders if he's truly ready.

I’m giddy and a little nervous, wondering what this means for us.

Are we moving too fast?

Part of me wants to pump the brakes to protect my heart from another potential heartbreak.

I never expected to feel this way, to be ready and willing to open my heart to love. But with Jake, it feels right. It feels natural, like coming home.

My bigger, more adventurous part is ready to trust our connection and take a leap of faith.

I slip out of bed and pad barefoot across the hardwood floor, pulling on Jake's discarded shirt from the night before.

It falls to my thighs, the soft fabric whispering against my skin.
