She looks at me, her eyes searching mine. “You want more children?”

“I want everything with you, Finley,” I say. “I want to wake up every morning to your beautiful smile and fall asleep every night with you in my arms.”

“I want that too,” she whispers.

We stay like that for a long moment, enveloped in the love and strength of our bond. When we finally pull apart, Finley bites her lip, and there is a nervous excitement in her eyes.

“Jake, there's something I need to tell you.”

“What is it, Sugar?”

“Expanding the business might have to wait.” Finley looks up at me, her eyes sparkling with mischief. “Can you handle two sets of sticky fingers and frosting-covered faces?”

The world stops, my jaw dropping as I stare at her in shock.

“You...you're...”

A memory flashes through my mind—a night when we got carried away in the heat of the moment.

We'd realized too late that our protection had failed, and I'd held Finley as she worried about the potential consequences.

Finley takes a deep breath, a smile blooming as she places a hand on her belly. “We're going to have a baby,” she says.

The words wash over me, and my heart swells with love and pride.

I wrap my arms around Finley, lifting her off the ground and spinning her around as laughter spills from our lips.

“A baby,” I whisper, setting her down gently and cupping her face. “We're going to be parents together. This is everything I've ever wanted.”

Finley nods, her eyes shining. “I know it's unexpected, and we didn't plan for it, but?—”

“But it's the best news I could have ever hoped for,” I finish for her, cupping her face in my hands. “I love you, Finley. And I already love our little one more than I ever thought possible.”

“Me too,” Finley murmurs, her eyes shining with love and happiness. “I never knew I could feel this way until I met you and Amber. You've given me the family I always dreamed of.”

I press my forehead against hers. “When should we tell Amber? I want her to be a part of this every step of the way.”

Finley smiles, her hand finding mine and lacing our fingers together. “Let's break the news tonight after we enjoy the delicious cupcakes she slaved over.”

“Can you imagine the look on her face when we tell her she’s going to be a big sister?”

“She's going to be amazing,” Finley says softly, her free hand resting on her stomach once more. “Just like her daddy.”

I pull Finley close, breathing in her sweet scent and marveling at how perfectly she fits in my arms. Amber's laughter rings out, a joyful soundtrack to this perfect moment.

After all the struggles and uncertainties, I can hardly believe this is real. I keep expecting to wake up from this dream, but then Finley squeezes me tighter, and I know it's not my imagination.

We've made it. We've fought for our love and family and come out stronger on the other side. I feel like the luckiest man alive, blessed with a future full of love and laughter.

Amber runs over, wrapping her little arms around our legs, and I gather her into our embrace.

This right here? This is what life is all about. The three of us, together, are ready to take on the world.

I kiss Finley's forehead, then Amber's cheek, my heart so full it could burst. I never imagined love could feel so amazing, so perfect. Holding my girls in my arms, I’m exactly where I belong.

I used to fear for the future, but now I say, bring it on. As long as I have Finley and Amber by my side, it will be one hell of a ride.
